I worked in ebusinessware(popularly known as EBW) for more than 3 years and saw its ups and downs.
Basic funda is, If one is billable, one gets everything be it handsome salary, recognition etc and if an employee is not billable they will not even serve notice period before firing.
Yes they did retain some guys by giving them 50% salary, for the sake of showing that they are trying to retain, but they fired most of the persons who were on bench(remember without giving even a single day notice period pay).
It is becoming a recruitment consultancy firm, and is no longer an IT firm .
Most of the well known faces have either quit or they are waiting for market to open up .
They could have saved their faces by atleast serving notice period to the fired employees.No body can help the recessions but HR can make or break the company by fair HR policies, sorry to say fairness lags in this case.
