Edward Scissorhands...My Love!

Ever since Edward Scissorhands came out, I’ve been in love with it! This was the first movie I ever cried to when I was little...that includes Bambi! Edward (Johnny Depp) is a poor young man created by an inventor (the WONDERFUL Vincent Price) atop the scary hill in the ’’haunted mansion’’. After a most unfortionate occurence of events consisting of the inventor’s death, a classical suburban Avon-lady, Peg Boggs (Dianne Wiest) finds him all alone up there. She insists he come home with her. Can you blame her? Johnny Depp all alone in this huge scary mansion looking all beautiful as he does! I would LEAP at the opportunity to take him home with me! Nosy neighbors are automatically drawn to the Boggs’ house to see the new mysterious stranger. After some more character developement, we notice that Kim (Winona Ryder) and Eddie have a little romance going on. Kim’s boyfriend, Jim (Anthony Michael Hall) becomes jealous and gets him in trouble with the law before trying to kill him. There’s a full out brawl in the end between good, Edward, and evil, Jim. Now...I wont tell you who wins. I have to give you a sense of mystery in this review!

Tim Burton does an EXCELLENT job at directing this masterpiece. He got the inspiration from a drawing he made when he was a teenager, and from there created cinematic magic with the help of Danny Elfman (Music Director). God I love this movie! You can watch it with anyone. It’s full of drama, comedy, action, suspense, and romance, so there’s enough to be enjoyed by everyone. Watch it with your date, your friends, you family, your neighbors, your butcher, your garbage-man, high school sweetheart, dog’s vet, first grade teacher...just watch the movie, it doesn’t matter with who!
