Ek Haseena Bilkul Thi

I’m surprised there is only one review in this section. Personally, I liked this album a lot. The album is created by DJ Aqeel, and he has also created ’’Aur Ek Haseena Thi’’, which has the song ’’Chadti Jawani’’. I didn’t buy this CD, but my sister did. I guess because the songs that were on there were popular at the time when she was born, and she had listened to them quite a bit. I guess she decided to see what these remixes were like, and so it was just dumb luck that I listened to this CD.

The thing I don’t like about this album is the cover. It has pictures of women in skimpy pink dresses, and messages like ’’Akelo Ho? Dosti Karoge?’’ These aren’t the type of messages the songs are portraying. Maybe DJ Aqeel should have put the pictures of the original singers. Or, if he wanted to put a girl or a couple of girls on the cover, make them wear traditional clothes and actually put pretty girls in there.

The girls on the cover are fat and ugly and the dresses they’re wearing make them look even worse. Anyway, other than the cover the album was excellent. My favorite songs in this album were track 1 (Tu, Tu Hai Wahi), track 3 (Maine Poocha Chaand Se), track 4 (Pucho Zara Pucho), and track 7 (Jaane Jaa).

Track 1

The original song, which has Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhonsle singing is such a sweet song. The music is very traditional and the lyrics just sweet. DJ Aqeel has done a great job at remixing this song. Most remixes take away the ’’Shaan’’ in old songs and don’t include some of the original tunes or music in it. Track 1 has included the original tune, and has used light techno music to outline the importance of the song. The song seems more relaxing as the music isn’t too fast, and the girls voice is very sweet. I swear I could fall asleep to the music, it’s so soothing. That is the whole point because it’s a sweet love song. It’s great for when you want to confess your love to your mate.

’’Tu, Tu Hai Wahi, Dil Ne Jiseh, Apna Kaha.

Tu Hai Jahan, Main Hoon Wahan.

Ab To Yeh Jeena, Tere Bin Hai Saza.

Ho Miljaaye Istra, Do Lehrein Jistra.

Phir Ho Naa Juda, Haan Yeh Wada Raha.’’

Track 3

Mohammad Rafi sings ’’Maine Poocha Chaand Se’’ originally, and they have used his voice in the song. This song is also light techno which makes you want to sleep. It is also a sweet love song. I have heard other remixes of this song, but they have taken away the original purpose of the song. The song is either too fast, or the music isn’t proper because the tune of the music and the tune of the song just don’t match. This song is excellent and great for listening to with a spouse or girlfriend/boyfriend, especially if they really do look like a Chaand.

’’Maine Poocha Chaand Se

Ke Dekha Hai Kahin Mere Yaar Sa Haseen.

Chaand Ne Kaha, Chandni Ki Kasam

Nahin, Nahin, Nahin.

Maine Poocha Chaand Se.’’

Track 4

I haven’t listened to the original to ’’Pucho Zara Pucho’’, but all I can say is the music is just excellent for this song. The song sounds seductive, and the music does also. It fits perfectly with the theme of the song. This song is awesome for those times when you just feel rubbing your mate all over the place! ;) (wink wink!).

’’Pucho Zara Pucho Mujhe Kya Hua Hai?

Kesi Bekaraari Hai Yeh Kesa Nasha Hai?

Tum Se Dil Laganay Ki Saza Hai.

Raja Ji Tum Se Dil Laganay Ki Saza Hai.’’

Track 7

This song is fast paced and perfectly fits the song. The lyrics are sung fast, and the music deserves to be fast. For some reason the song reminds me of myself being stranded on an island with some hottie and us just dancing. I guess I’ve seen too many Indian movies like that. Haha. But it’s an awesome song and I definately listen to it twice at a time. I’m sorry, but I don’t really know the starting lyrics to the song, but I know the lyrics close to the end when the sweet girls voice is singing.

’’Dil Machalne Laga, Yunhi Dhalne Laga.

Rang Bhara, Pyaar Ka, Yeh Samaa.’’

These days you can find many CDs or tapes with old songs remixed. Some of them are good, while others are just too bad to be described. Personally, I like most of the remixes and I think it is a good idea to remix them, only if you know how to. Some songs are just not meant to be remixed because they sound better in the original sound. Some songs in this album I didn’t like, but most of them were really good, and DJ Aqeel’s other CD ’’Aur Ek Haseena Thi’’ is as well a great album.
