We are so used to watching Esha Deol, Kareena Kapoor crap that an extremely mediocre movie like Ek Hasina Thi seems like a good one. Anyways according to me watching this movie is a complete waste of time and money. Reasons?? Read on?.
No Chemistry: The main two characters Urmila and Saif don?t share any chemistry between them. They never seem to be in love, how come Urmila believes she is in love?? The poorest pair ever cast against each other.
No character development: None of the characters are developed (excepting Urmila maybe a little bit). Saif?s character is completely undeveloped, the other gangsters, the psycho in the jail all seem weird and out of place.
Poor Acting: Urmila knows only two expressions, lips moving means she is in love and making her eyes bigger means she is scary and wants to take revenge. Saif didn?t have much do in this movie, plays a one-sided character and acts miserably. He is not good in action, not in the romance scenes. Worst is Seema Biswas, she plays a cop and she doesn?t have any expression in her face throughout the movie. Her face looks like is made of rock. Other characters are equally awful.
Poor Action: The worst action and fight sequences I have ever seen. Urmila fights the psycho in the jail by slapping in the air miserably with her fragile hands. Same for Saif, he is probably the worst actor in the bollywood in the fight scenes. Its kind of funny watching a feminine-Saif trying his best to fight four-five 200lb gangsters and killing them. (I guess they just committed suicide to end their misery).
Poor story: The story has many flaws. The way Urmila believes the lawyer and admits the crime is extremely childish. The escape sequence from the jail can probably win the poorest-escape-sequence-ever Award. The way revenge is taken is also funny and seems like no good thought was put into it. Director seems confused. At the end when Saif thinks that Urmila has the money, why would he take her to other gangsters that was not clear either.
My recommendation - stay away from the hasina.
