Disappointed with Ekbote Aundh

I purchased furniture( Dining Table+ Bed+ Wardrobe) in the first week of November. We were promised that our Bed would be delivered by the 10th of November whereas the Dining Table & Wardrobe would be delivered by the 20th. I was pleased by the initial interaction with them during the purchase and the variety of furniture they had on display.


The real saga started off when I called them prior to the 10th to check the status of the delivery of the bed. I was informed that it will be done as per schedule. I waited the whole day however no one turned up nor was I called to update me with the status. I called them up in the night to check with them and was informed that they were unable to arrange for a vehicle that day. I was stunned by their response. I was promised delivery the next day. I again waited throughout the day expecting the bed to be delivered. However when I called up, I got the same response that they were not able to arrange for a vehicle. I was surprised to know that a store of this stature was taking their customers for granted and beating around the bush with absolutely ridiculous answers.


I asked when I could expect the bed to arrive. They informed that they will try their best to get it delivered by the 15th. That never happened and I kept making several calls to Ekbote Aundh asking for updates and all I got was vague responses regarding the delivery dates. I finally have up hope and stopped calling for updates since they never bothered to call and give me any sort of updates. Each time, it was me calling up to check the status. Two weeks passed by including the promised delivery date of 20th for the Wardrobe and Dining table as well.


On the 24th, this van turns up at my place without confirming if I would even be available at my place or not. Ekbote assumes, it’s customers are jobless and are available at their homes round the clock. Luckily I was available and the process of unpacking and mantling started off. To my dismay, I noticed that the dining table chairs that were delivered were not as per the order that was placed. We had ordered the color of the fabric on the chair to match certain other things in the dining area and to be in contrast to our white walls. What they delivered were chairs with white fabric. I immediately called up Ekbote and informed them about the goof up. They asked me to use these chairs for a couple of days and promised to have these replaces asap.


After that day, I have made several calls to Ekbote and they just keep beating around the bush with the same old vague responses stating that they were unable to arrange for a vehicle to deliver my chairs. I even went to the extent of helping them arrange for a vehicle, but they assured me to speed up things at the earliest. Also, the most pathetic thing about this whole episode is that instead of being apologetic about this whole incident and putting me through so much mental agony, it has on the contrary been me whose been following up almost every other day. I called them up on the 27th and they promised delivery on the 30th or at the most 01st of December which again has not happened.


Today, 02nd Dec, I called them up a while ago and they have promised me a new delivery date i.e.03rd of Dec. I’m left at the mercy of their useless customer care representatives and all I can do now is hope that I get my chairs someday. Hoping that other Puneites don’t have to bear the brunt of their careless attitude towards customers. These people should be taught a lesson and dragged to the consumer court.
