Bad Experience - Elements @ HSR Layout

I guess there are two Spas with the same name "Elements" in Bangalore and looks like I read reviews about one and ended up in the other one. This review is about the one at the following address:

*Elements spa,

No. 177, 9th Main

Sector 7, HSR Layout

Bangalore*

I called them up in the morning on Sunday, April 7th 2013 and fixed appointment at 02:30 on the same day. The SPA is located on the second floor of a building. The stair case at the side of the building was very narrow and dirty. One has to pass the kitchen of a restaurant in the same building. On the outside, it looked very dingy but that would have been ok if the services made up for it.

The package I opted for had a welcome drink, foot reflexology, whole body massage (Thai/Swedish) and body wrap/body scrub. As I was waiting at the reception, I was offered their welcome drink - a glass of plain water. Forget about the ambiance and nice interiors, the place didn’t even have AC!. At 02:30 in the afternoon, I was already feeling hot.

Usually when you visit a spa, you will be asked to fill a form where you declare your illness if any, areas that needs to be concentrated etc. There was nothing like that here. Shortly, one masseur invited me to the next room (with open view from the reception) where he did the foot reflexology. All the time I was hoping that at least the room where they do the massage will have AC.

After the foot treatment, I was led to a small, cramped room with no AC or ventilation. They just had one pedestal fan in there. As soon as I was ready, he came and started the massage. There was no question on which massage I wanted even though there was a choice between Thai and Swedish as per the package. Neither was there any question on whether the pressure was adequate enough/comfortable for me. Looked like he was just doing what he knew.

In between the massage, there were random people (their own staff) coming and opening the door without even knocking. The room had a bathroom which was shared by another room. In between, I could hear another guy from the other room coming and using the bathroom while my room’s door to the bathroom was still open. My therapist didn’t even bother to close the door from the room. This is the level of respect they have for our privacy!.

The guy was doing as if he was in a hurry to finish and go somewhere. The room was very hot and by the time everything got finished, I was so tired, exhausted and not at all relaxed as one would expect after a massage. In fact, I was feeling rather cheated after the whole experience. If you are looking for a relaxing experience, don’t even consider this place (Elements Spa, HSR Layout). Hope this will help someone.

Regards,

Jemshad
