A couple of weeks ago my mum handed me a slim green and white box with the words ‘I received this as a free gift and it’s not me’ to accompany it. It was indeed a 1.7fl oz bottle of Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Scent Spray. I hadn’t heard of this scent before, let alone tried it, so without wasting time popped open the box pulled out the bottle and gave a healthy squirt into the lid for a sniff test. As I already had perfume on that day I didn’t want to risk smelling like a chemical plant by spraying this on my wrist also, that and just in case I didn’t like it so in the lid it went.
Although it was one of those fragrances that reminded me of something and it sent me off into the clouds for at least 10 minutes trying to rack my brains of what on earth it was, I took an instant fancy to it. When I returned to earth, it hit me, either my nostrils aren’t up to much good in the ‘sniff and guess’ department or it really is very similar to Body Shop’s Dewberry. In my teens I had practically used every kind of Dewberry product as it was all the trend and the girls just simply had to have it, so I’m pretty convinced my nostrils are right on this one.
=THE BOX=
The box is a fairly light green to the front, right side and top, with all other sides being white. To the front and rear is a picture of a silver leaf with one half of the box cut out enabling you to see the bottle inside. The writing on the front is very basic and merely says Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Scent Spray at the top and Eau Parfumee Vaporisateur 1.7 fl oz 50ml at the bottom.
On the back of the box is a list of the ingredients, a warning stating that this product is flammable, contact details and the recyclable symbol for when you discard of the box.
For box appeal it doesn’t rate very highly, they could have been a little more artistic in keeping with other new fragrances I feel, as it has very little to say ‘hey pick me’ to the consumer when sat up on the shelf.
=THE BOTTLE=
The bottle is very basic and has that ‘earth-wise’ look to it. As you will have seen from the picture it is certainly nothing special and probably wouldn’t catch your eye when passing the perfumery display in any store but it’s elegant all the same. It is of clear glass with a green flower on the back and has a green frosted plastic lid.
=THE FRAGRANCE=
I personally would describe this as a fragrance aimed at the younger generation. I feel that it has quite a strong scent and being extremely hard to put into words can only say it is not fruity but more of a musky smell and 100% alive. Oh and it’s green by the way.
=PRICES=
At today’s prices you can purchase a 1.7 fl oz bottle for $25, a 3.3 fl oz bottle for $35, or a 200ml tube of lotion for $12. As a special offer at the moment the Elizabeth Arden web site is offering a free elegant glass crystal clock with any purchase from the Green Tea range. There is a picture of this on the web site for those interested, but it’s not my cup of ‘tea’.

=FINAL THOUGHT=
Green Tea for me would be an every day perfume, nothing special just splash it on. I wouldn’t personally keep it for that special occasion or indeed romantic encounter as I feel that the scent is a little strong and perhaps overpowering on first use to be any good in the pulling department, and although would certainly get ‘up everyone’s nose’ in a pub or alike would probably make them steer clear of you until it has worn off a little.
