We were a big group of families travelling together via Emirates Airlines. We were trying to enjoy our travel time as well and were talking among us. We weren’t too loud and were in well behaved levels. Still we had the cabin crew member announce on the on-flight intercom requesting some of the “Indian passengers” to maintain silence and not cause further inconvenience to others. I found her tagging us by our nationality objectionable and offensive.
We weren’t creating as much of a mess as they were making it to be. Along with the other passengers, even the on-flight crew was being extremely rude in their expressions, gestures and behavior. They were complaining about the kids using the washroom, which I think is the strangest thing ever. They are kids for heaven sake. They were associating all this as an Indian thing which is clearly racist and full of stereotypes.
I have traveled in a group many a times, but have never been subjected to such racist behavior. Emirates Airlines definitely was the worst choice. Anyone else planning to travel with more people make sure you don’t pick Emirates Airlines. There is a pool of various other choices.
