I purchased a Eureka Forbes(Aquaguard) in 2006 but didnt have an AMC. As directed, when I wanted to get the unit serviced, I called the shop that had sold it to me and after much fighting, I found someone to come out to my place and service it. He turned out to be(in hindsight) a decent chap and in the end, as I was moving away to another city, convinced me into buying an AMC for the filter which would make it easier for me to get it installed in my new place and also replace anything that was broken during the move.
After my move to Kolkata, I called the local franchise for Aquaguard and two cartoon characters came to my place to install the unit. One of them was so intelligent(well, both were but this one was more vocal than the other) that he declared that because he didnt have any spanner or any other tool(which he was supposed to bring with him), the tap was going to remain tilted sideways! When we shouted at him and actually showed him how to straighten it, he remained quiet and sheepish. Of course, we realized soon that this was also a local problem(not just Eureka Forbes-related).
Then, I took to calling the quiet one to get the filter carbon changed during last years AMC and then called him again a few months ago, to get a new AMC. He came with a new friend who was also a dodo. This chap sprayed water all over the kitchen and didnt seem concerned that he had flooded that part of the kitchen floor under the unit. Moreover, I had to interrogate him closely to find out exactly what I was entitled to get(discount coupons etc) in the new AMC. Any other woman who hadnt had this much practice with fighting with customer care as I do, would have caved in and been cheated.
I even asked the shameless fellow whether he would only give and do things at the customers prompting. He then had the nerve to ask for more money(in addition to the AMC amount) which also I was able to refuse bluntly. Then, the chap remained sitting in my living room, ostensibly because it had started raining, and looked as if he would be asking for refreshments in the foreseeable future. At this point of time, I decided it was equally dangerous for him as it was for me to continue to see his smug, incompetent face and drove him out.
