Eureka Forbes No longer Customer Oriented. Cheats!

I was one of the loyal Eureka Forbes customer of 25 years and had embraced their products euroclean and aquaguard much before the market even knew about them. We were all very proud of their products and have recommended them to near and dear for all these years. NO LONGER WILL WE DO THAT AND WE WILL ACTIVELY ADVOCATE AGAINST EUREKA PRODUCTS, ESPECIALLY THIS PRODUCT. I have been a gullible customer and want to save others from buying this miserable product. If you have to buy, at least ask the questions that I did not know I should ask about.


I bought this product in March 2012. At the time of sale the sales person only demoed the product and talked of all its wonderful features of making your water as good mineral water. He said we have lifetime free service as an added feature. The following are what he dint say and what we got to know after buying the product:

  1. The warranty is for one year and DOES NOT COVER THE MEMBRANES AND CARBON which needs to be changed anytime from 6months to 1 year at best. The best part.THEY COST YOU Rs.3300/- every time. The service person will refuse to service your product when it gets to that stage unless YOU AGREE TO CHANGE IT. THIS IS THE BIGGEST EVER CHEATING DONE BY THEM SO CONVENIENTLY. When I asked why I was’nt told about it at the time of sale they simply said it is in the warranty card which I get AFTER BUYING THE PRODUCT and that this is how every company sells their RO systems.

  2. Free life time service means.you can get free service only if you dismantle the product and take it to their service centers yourself in your own vehicle! You are charged for everything from the service to all other parts otherwise.

  3. The membrane of my RO was not able to handle the so called "OVERLOAD" of 2 people using this for just drinking water and for cooking purpose even when the TDS(Total Dissolve-able Salts) is less than their specified range of 500 -1500.(mine was 450 only even before using the product. Actually they should’ve suggested me not to buy the product for this excellent quality of water!)

  4. The call center is pathetic. They hardly can even understand our problem and give you a standard script(the call center manager should atleast change the dialogues once in a while or recruit better quality people) "I am very sorry for that ma’am. I will send my technician in 24 hours". Sometimes their agents "FORGET" to give us a complaint number or pass on the complaint to their service centers!

I’ve had the unfortunate experience of buying the product, then complaining to their CEO through a mail who finally got my membrane set changed for FREE hen I asked for a refund only to send the service staff to tell me how everything else will be chargeable going forward.


On an economy of scale it makes better sense to get BISLERI of AQUAFINA water cans and use than buy this product. Atleast you can save on your electricity(given its recent cost escalation), litres of water wasted every 2 hours for sending out the TDS through self cleaning and the cost of running behind the call center to get your work done. Anyway they only promise BISLERI water quality. So why waste so much time, money and energy on the product and instead directly buy BISLERI itself?


Despite all this if you still want to buy the product please remember the phrase "LET THE BUYER BEWARE" which this "once upon a time great company turned to a pure marketing company who cares nothing about the end customer" practices so well today!
