The worst ’Vacuum’ you’ll ever own...! Belts burn out frequently, it overheats easily and won’t turn back on for several minutes to an hour+, it has terrible coupling with it’s own (expensive) Eureka Style AA vacuum bags . Most of its problems result from this poor coupling, I think.a cardboard flange at the top of the bags slides into place; you click the lid into place and insert the vacuum’s hose. The problems with this particular execution: the hose inserts loosely and sloppily (it has a plastic notch seemingly to help secure it in place that really does nothing); the slot that the flange slides into gives about half an inch clearance from the chamber wall, while the flange is only about 1/16’’ thick! The resulting space creates an escape route for anything you’re vacuuming: dust, dog hair, etc. The flow of junk then fills up the chamber OUTSIDE the vacuum bag and keeps the bag from filling properly, causing frequent clogs. When you open the chamber to clear the clogs (maybe every three minutes or so), you’re greeted with a face full of dust that also falls out onto the vacuum and the floor!
Then things really start to suck! This errant dirt makes it’s way to the bottom of the chamber where you find a small fabric and cardboard filter piece that’s placed over a hexagonal grate immediately before the motor. This filter gets progressively dirtier and dirtier while your vacuum seems to be prematurely dying of asthma. A repair person told me this filter has a tendency to shift as irate consumers kick this thing into submission, suddenly flooding the motor with a backlog of dust, dirt and assorted crap and putting this sorry excuse for an appliance out of it’s misery.
