Dishonest Sellers- never visit their stores

This shop is bad. If you buy any product with which there is something free, you will never get the free gift. The reason being that the free gift is sold separately and the mall makes money out of it. Recently I visited this mall and got a Santoor Talc. On the product, it was advertized that the buyer would get two free Santoor soaps. I picked up one of these talcum powder and went to the checkout desk along with my other items. The man on the checkout counter smartly billed me and then let me out with the bill.

When I inquired for my free gift, this person was indifferent - just that as if it is natural that the free gift would not be given. I called in for the store manager, and the store manager in turn pretended as if he was sorry and started finding out the free gifts. In the meantime, all the free gifts were sold separately and there was no stock of the free gift.

As he did not have any explanation, he was forced to get two santoor soaps from his rack to give it to me. Bottomline is that, do we as buyers are supposed to keep checking this or should this be by default from the sellers to give us the advertized free gifts? The store I am talking is in AECS layout in Brookefield. A similar store called MK Ahmed which is near this store does not adopt to these kinds of practices and is a much better place to buy your groceries. Please stay away from these guys.
