Why was the war in Iraq waged? Was it really justified?
Was it really for the freedom & peace or were there
more covert ambitions & goals behind. What were the
repercussions? What were the events that lead to the
2 wars? How did the Bush administration react to the
9/11 crisis? How was the US & the world at large
affected by the reaction?
Fahrenheit 9/11 by Michael Moore attempts to answer
many of these questions. What is Fahrenheit 9/11 &
who is Michael Moore? Well, for the uninitiated,
Fahrenheit 9/11 is the award-winning ‘controversial’
documentary-film written, produced & directed by
Academy Award winner veteran filmmaker Michael Moore.
’’It deals with what happened to the United States of
America after September 11, 2001 & how did the Bush
administration used the tragic event to push its
political & personal agenda.’’
Moore bashes Bush’s policies & severely criticizes
his decision-making. He presents various nuggets of
information that are seemingly of less importance
when considered solitarily. However, Moore puts them
together in a such a way that they paint a very
disturbing picture.
This piece goes in detail also for those who might
not be able to watch the movie (although it’s highly
recommended) or not understand the various
connotations & contexts. Any one interested in
international politics would find this film
‘interesting’ as should any budding student or fan
of documentary filmmaking.
