I snatched those lines from a speech of George W. Bush. Yup, I am talking about the President of the United States.
The President, many Americans (and a rising number of others from elsewhere in the world) believe (after watching Fahrenheit 9/11), have fooled their trust and faith in the most powerful chair on Earth.
Shame on him? Let the Americans judge.
What is Fahrenheit 9/11 all about?
Written, produced & directed by Michael Moore (the man you see in the pic), this is a courageous and praiseworthy work revealing the many goof-ups the Bush administration did ever since George Bush was sworn as the 43rd President of the States. And may still be goofing as we speak.
Shown here are hard-hitting facts and figures which are going to either stun or shock you. This documentary did both to me.
I do not wish to spoil your pleasure in watching Fahrenheit yet I cant help share some of these gold nuggets with you. Quite entertaining too.
No President has witnessed such a drama the way that was displayed for welcoming Mr. Bush as President. On the first day, the traditional walk to the White House by the President was scrapped because the infuriated public pelted eggs on the limousine (footage shown). Why? Simple, he reportedly cheated (evidences shown) to amass votes.
Days following the 9/11 tragedy, all private & commercial airlines flights were cancelled. But from Sep 13, 142 Saudis including 24 members of Bin Ladens family were flown from the States to Saudi Arabia. Although the proper procedure, as per a retired FBI agent, would have been to take statements from these family members, none of them were put on record. They were helped to leave, no questions asked.
Again why? Is it because the Bush family had business relationships with the Bin Ladens family? Is that why he treated them with kid gloves?
When you have Saudis putting in reportedly 860 million dollars to the American economy over the years, you need to be careful, dont you Mr. Bush?
Or should we take into consideration the 1.4 billion dollars the Saudi royals invested over 3 decades into the businesses of Bush family and those of their friends and relatives?
Hmmm...
Im beginning to love Mr. Moore for providing these juicy tidbits.
Although Mr. Bush claimed to smoke him (Osama) out of his cave, his troops were nowhere near the latters cave for about 2 months since the Afghan war started. Was that a 2 month advance notice for Osama to get out?
And how many troops were there in Afghanistan? As an American politician said, there are more police here in Manhattan than there are troops in Afghanistan
In a scene, an American lady is talking to a Taliban minister (who was invited to the States 5 months before the 9/11 tragedy) criticising the ill-treatment of Afghan women. The minister replied, Im really sorry to your husband. He might have a difficult time with you. I enjoyed seeing that. Comical, really.
Let me introduce you to John Ashcroft now.
Did you know that in 2000 when he ran for election as Senator for Missouri against a man who....died a month ago, the voters preferred the dead guy? :)
So what did our saviour Mr. Bush do? Made Mr. Ashcroft his attorney general.
The latter was sworn in on a stack of Bibles, because, in Michael Moores words, when you cannot beat a dead guy, you need all the help you can get.
This is the Attorney General who ignored the repeated reminders from the FBI (before 9/11) of security reports that Al Qaeda members were in the US and Osama had sent agents for training in flight schools all over US.
After 9/11, the airport security became obviously very tight. So tight that they questioned a mother for carrying her milk in a tiny bottle (for her baby) !!!
Lets come to the Iraq fiasco now - the second Vietnam for America.
Why did US invade Iraq, a nation, in Mr. Moores words, that never attacked America, a nation that never threatened to attack America, a nation that never murdered a single American citizen?
The brutal images of maimed innocent Iraqi civilians - men, women & children shown here are very graphic. Beyond words, my friends.
This is what Corporal Abdul Henderson USMC (who served in Iraq) had to say - ...Ill not let anyone send me back there to kill other poor people especially when they pose no threat to me or my country. I wont do it
Below is the last letter of late Sergeant Michael Pederson (killed when a Black Hawk helicopter carrying him was shot down in Iraq war). This letter was read out to the camera by his mother. I had to wipe my tears occasionally hearing this mother who was trying her best to read the letter in a calm voice -
Those words I couldnt understand, I replaced with dots. Forgive for any mistakes

Barring one, none of the 535 members of the Congress (who gave their support for the Iraqi war) have any of their dear ones serving in Iraq.
In Michael Moores words (words in brackets are mine. And forgive for any mistakes) -
Who would want to give up their child?
Would you? Would he (George)?
Ive always been amazed that the very people forced to live in the worst parts of the town, go to the worst schools and inhabit the worst houses are always the first to step up. To enlist.
They serve so that we dont have to.
They offered to give up their lives so that we can be free.
It is remarkably their gift to us.
All they ask for in return is that we never send them into harms way unless it is absolutely necessary.
Will they ever trust us again?
A standing ovation to Michael Moore for giving the world his Fahrenheit 9/11.
Congratulations Mr. Moore for receiving the Best Picture in 2004 Cannes Festival.
Congratulations for your guts in spilling out Georges guts :)
Just joking. Although I love such one-liners, that was rude I know.
So let me finally pray -
GOD BLESS AMERICA
and thank you all for patiently reading my long 25th review.
Amen
