Well I have been an old Aamir Khan movies fan and hence paid extra to watch Fanna over the weekend. For all those who are going to watch it , I have a few tips -Pls go in as emotional a mood as possible.. or else u wont understand what Director Kunal Kohli is trying to mean in most cases. Such high emotion may help overlook logic and story in some cases. ( something the movie is totally deprived of..)
First, A blind girl with an over excited mother ( who always talks of shehzaada !!) goes to Delhi and allows the first man she meets to touch her, go close to her, asking her to smell his presence.. All in one day flat..I donno if any woman would do that..
Second, security system at India’s most well guarded area been handled by a Comic character, who in his Jollygood nature allows security breach..
Third, A terrorist who gets into Indian Army and Indian army doesn even have his Photo and details..( Towards the end Tabu, a senior Anti terrorist Officer asks whether his sketch has been made or not).. after many days have passed since crime committed..
Fourth, a young Boy who keeps calling himself by his own name, Rehan ko ab Sona hai, Rehan ko ab khaana khana hai, Rehan ko yeh pasand hai, woh nahin..Oh God, his Mother forgot to teach him the words- Main or Mujhe..
Fifth, An Anti terrorist Unit of Indian defense services where in top officers talk in loud voices strolling across the office taking decisions on the move with casualty, and even based on personal bias.. (Kunal what were u thinking there??)
now now.. I am not going into sixth, seventh..etc ..etc.. or else I will sound as boring as Kunal Kohli’s worst work ( I did like MDK and humtum..).
To summarize, Fanaa is an attempt to capture a love story.. but Director forgot to include proper story and proper logic in it.. Well he didnt forget the usage of Cliched scenes and idea- like Kajol shouting the name of her son same as Aamir’s when she sees him.. In fact my friend sitting next to me didnt even understand the whole scene.
On the good side, very beautiful locations, and good music and an extremely good Aamir are the only pluses.. A complete NO NO for intelligent viewers..
