The name itself tells us many things. Some true, while some not. The same is the case with FC GRILL HOUSE. Yes you guessed it right, its located at one of the prime locations in the city, FC road. And the first thing that comes to your mind when it reads grill house is that it would be a typical place where they have a small barbeque apparatus on your table and you get to grill all the veggies and chicken chunks and what not. But thats not what they have to offer, instead they serve a huge variety of food and drinks, in a very funky and cool ambience.
The passage to the building is nicely decorated with graffitis and street lamps. One of the interesting feature of this place is the use of technology. The lights of this wonderful eatery can be controlled to be set on a desired colour with the use of your phone( by your phone I meant the owners phone) . So, practically he can choose form infinite colours form the digital palate and not to forget various themes they have such as christmas and sunset.
Their strong hold, apart form great ambience and food is live music performances on the weekends. The place is jam packed when some of the most popular bands do a gig over here. They also house 2 separate rooms for private gatherings, where both of them can hold around 7-8 people. The music never gets dull in here, it just gets ever better on weekends!
STARTERS-
JALAPENO CHEESE POPPERS - 4/5
Crunchy kebabs loaded with cheese, jalapenos and peppers. The presentation was appreciable, and the sauce served on the side was thick and yummy.
GARLIC ROASTED PRAWNS -
Not a seafood enthusiast, I did not taste this dish. But form the looks of it, it definitely looked yummy with a very high appealment coefficient.
PANEER AFGHANI TIKKA - 3.8/4
A paneer speciality over here, this dish was a bit on the sweeter side, which I liked. Paneer cubes marinated with love, and flavoured with cardamom, gives a very creamy finish. Even the onions, bell peppers and tomatoes had a nice taste to it. Served along with a mint chutney which tingles your taste buds.
TANDOORI LOLLIPOP - 5/5
The BEST lollipop I have ever had! They were just so amazing. I recently had chicken lollipop and I remember them to be very hard and try, but the lollipop styled chicken kebabs they serve here are beyond tasty. They are really juicy, while still maintaining a mild crispy outer layer. The feeling of softly taking a bite, and letting all the lip-smacking flavours fill your mouth. I wonder how they manage to keep their lollipops so juicy? The best part being that the dish is just priced at 269 bucks, which makes it a real treat. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
SULTANA MUSHROOMS - 4.5/5
Again a vegetarian wonder. If you love mushrooms and sweet flavour than this dish is made for you! Soft and succulent mushrooms, coated with minced paneer, cheese and spices. Though it was too sweet for many, I thoroughly loved it.
HONEY GLAZED CHICKEN - 4.2/5
Again a wonderful presentation. Soft chicken chunks cooked in honey and 0soy sauce. It gives the dish a very peculiar sweet and chinese flavour. If you are looking for something new then go for it.
Now for MOCKTAILS,
GREEN APPLE SODA - 3.5/5
A very gentle and soft drink. Fizzy soda with fresh green apple syrup added to it. Whats the result you ask? A refreshing drink which will compliment anything and everything. Simplicity is the key to this one.
ORANGE LEMONADE - 3.5/5
Again a very simple drink which is loved by all. Chilled water flavoured with orange and lemon. The sweet and sour combo, with the tangy taste is lovely. Try and be amazed.
EXOTIC FRUIT DRINK - 3.7/5
Enough with the fizzy drinks, and going for fresh fruit juices now, I tried this fruit punch mocktail. A mixture of cranberry, orange, and pineapple juices, with a hint of sour lemon. Served with a pineapple slice stuck on the glass rim, it will surly quench your fruity cravings.
CHOCOLATE BROWNIE SHAKE - 4.2/5
The thickness of this drink was amazing, and due this fact it was quite a heavy one too. Overloaded with chocolate and brownie, you wont have any space left for desserts after having this!
MAINS consisted of,
NON-VEG PLATTER - 3.8/5
Assorted varieties of chicken kebabs, all in one giant platter. A perfect dish for larger groups, or even small groups with hoggers like me!
NEAPOLITAN PIZZA - 4.3/5
A yummy affair of thin crust pizza topped with onions, tomatoes bell peppers and mozzarella cheese. Not too cheesy so that you cant taste anything else, but a mild flavour or every topping with a crunchy base. Veggie lovers can indulge into this one.
ROASTED CHICKEN PIZZA - 4.5/5
Again a crunchy base, with yummy chicken chunks on top. Flavoured with basil leaves and special pizza sauce, I highly recommend this pizza. Though the chicken toppings were generous, a bit more cheesyness would be highly loved.
DESSERTS,
SIZZLING BROWNIE - 3.7/5
The good old dessert which is everyones favourite. A slice of chocolate brownie which provided base to vanilla icecream scoop, almost twice its size and then topped with rich chocolate sauce. Need I say anymore?
BELGIAN CHOCOLATE MOUSSE CAKE - 3.9/5
This dessert was delicious. A layer of brownie, then a thick layer of smooth and creamy mousse and topped with some chocolate sauce and chocolate chips. The mousse had a light texture and combined with the brownie, it resulted into a chocolaty treat.
CHOCOLATE CHEESECAKE - 3.9/4
I loved the different variety of cheesecake they serve here. Served in a glass jar, its not thick and textured but a rather smooth and creamy finish. It did have a good flavour of chocolate and cheese, which will always make you want some more of it.
FC GRILL HOUSE is a great place for a hangout. The prices are affordable and reasonable, and the weekend live band performances are a must watch. One thing I really liked about this place is its simplicity in food. Not very fancy stuff, but everything right form the chicken lollipop to drinks, pizzas and desserts, the food was simple and tasty. Do try it out, and I recommend to reserve your table if you plan to indulge into a live band gig.
Happy Burping!
