I had bought Fiat Punto Active Diesel in January 2014, after selling my Swift ZXI petrol.
I need to mention how worse the new cars are maintained in the stock yards of Fiat dealers, Bangalore in open sunlight for months and exposed to heavy dusts. Very first start of my car I saw has been done with jumper cables with the help of another Indica car as my car’s new battery was completely drained of power (must have parked the car for months).
Punto gives more safety feeling than Swift in terms of built quality and drive experience but I feel Swift as better car in terms of comfort, rear cabin space and quality of finishing. I started getting rattling noise in just 2000 kms which I never had in my Swift even after 1 lakh kms. The door locks lever plastics & fittings are very poor as you’ll feel it may break while using them. Doors has to be closed with extra force compared to other cars so need to open & close the doors twice everytime which will lead to vibrations in the door fittings.
Headlamp switch lever is cylindrical & rotatable which slips and switches off the headlamp often while changing the Low and High beam. Fiat India need to improve the quality of plastic interiors. MJD Engine is very good which will make you forget all its cons while highway drives. It looks turbo has been tuned for highway driving pleasure as turbo opens after 2500 RPM.
Have just touched 4000 kms, need to wait and watch the upcoming performance and service qualities.
