Hi
My wife had purchased a Fiat Linea in Oct 2009.
This is our second vehicle the first one being Maruti zen which we purchased in 2002. At that time we had seriously contemplated purchasing Fiat palio however poor responses from the dealers made us choose a zen over palio. This time around the choice was between a Honda city and Linea and Linea looked attractive and with a tie up with Tata it sounded a fair deal and we went ahead and picked up a Linea.
The vehicle has done just around 7500km and on 11 Jul at around 4 AM the engine check warning light started flashing. I called the 24 hrs helpline at 5 AM and the persons came to check the vehicle at 6:40 AM and had no testing equipment with them.
I having experienced a poor response during the first servicing had to escalate the matter with the general manager Auti finn ltd who are my dealers and hence had his mobile number. After a visible initial reluctance, it being a Sunday, he agreed to have my problem attended to.
When the bonnet was opened I realised even the coolant level was well below the minimum level and on checking no leaks were found that leaves with the only option that coolant was not filled to the required level at the servicing.
I also reported that vehicle had creaking sound at times during initial movement which the service adviser attributed to moisture in the belt and said was a normal feature with Tata vehicles , a response which I find unsatisfactory.
The engineers after spending around 4 hrs declared that the accelerator pedal had to be changed and no spares were available so vehicle had to be left at the showroom.
During the entire process the customer waiting area was in a pathetic state and reflects the attitude of the company towards the customers. To go back home I was offered to be dropped to the nearest buss tand or else auto stand and on insistence was dropped to my residence in a towing vehicle ( a wonderful experience and possibly an award for purchasing a Linea.
We are a working couple and had planned to drive out for a brief holiday today morning but alas we are here trying to get our brand new vehicle fixed.
Truly a wonderful experience for having trusted this product, and when I called up Fiat customer support at Pune today morning I was told that someone from Fiat will call me by tomorrow a wonderful time limit in todays world and no wonder the dealers are as pathetic as the manufacturing company itself.
11..Well am waiting to hear from someone responsible to explain the loss of faith in the product and answer to the agony and loss of time and effort I had to suffer for trusting Fiat and Tata.
