I just wanna share my views abt this true beauty with all the admirers and criticizers of this car. I bought my car(Palio 1.2 ELX Sport)as a second hand car in 2005 and since then I m having a honeymoon time with this machine. I have kept it like my baby since then. Actually, when you buy it, you really fall in luv with it so much that u really treat it like one.
There are ppl( almost 95% who doesnt recommend this car, but I just have a four lettered word starting with F and attached with an OFF for all those ppl. This car is not for those who just want to own a car for driving it. Its for car lovers, ppl who take pleasure in driving. It is not for those amateur car drivers who literally screw the machine and then say it doesnt give mileage. All Maruti and Santro lovers, plz never buy this car.Simple coz u r not made for this and dont even deserve to drive it. I myself faced a lot of criticism from my friends and family for buying this car. But the moment I bought it, just after a few days suddenly I started hearing praises abt my Palio.Some say the car gives the feel of a big car and yeah maruti drivers found it really hard to deal with its pick up and power.
Now, I just wanna talk sumthing abt the mileage.guys, you would not believe this but I get a mileage of arnd 13-14 in city conditions.Now if u feel this is bad then plz buy a bike without giving it a second thought.All those ppl who cry abt Palio mileage should first learn to drive a MPFI engine car and then talk. This car has so much power that you actually never need to press the accelerator more than 15-20%.Here are some tips to increase mileage.
When you start the car, do not press the accelerator, the car does not need it.
As soon as you cross 10Kmph, shift to 2nd gear.30kmph-3rd gear, 40kmph-4th gear and move to top gear once you reach above 50.
Plz do not hit sudden breaks, also do not accelerate the vehicle suddenly.The car is very smooth and has a very high power so ppl love to accelerate it like anything. Both these things eat ur fuel so if you really want to save it then avoid it.
4.In heavy traffic I generally put my vehicle in 1st gear and allow it to coast with the pace of traffic without touching the accelerator. If required I coast in 2nd gear.Fial Palio can take this load with full AC. But it requires a gentle pedal if you are staring from stop with AC on.
5.While changing down shift from 5th to 4th only when you reach 40 kmph, 4th to 3rd at 30 kmph, 3rd to 2nd at 20 kmph, In a moving vehicle 1st gear would be required only if you are slower than 10 kmph.
- Maintain your car. If you spend less on it regularly, it would save you from spending heavily on it rarely.Trust me, first is a better option.
7.Please do not press the accelearator peddle more than 10-20%. You would see urself how smoothly car sails even if you do that. This is a car with such a quite engine that you do not feel any noise when the car accelerates. And it begs to speed up and go all the way if you rev up the accelerator and consumes fuel.
- After putting the vehicle into first gear, let in the clutch gently, feel it bite the drive train and then only push the race gently. Most cars including fiat are sufficiently powerful to take on the vehicle load without accelerating in 1st gear. In fact I do not press the race till the vehicle has actually started moving.
Hope, these things would let you save a lot of fuel. All those guys who love to drive and love to own a car you wanna fall in luv with.Palio is the one for u.It even comes in a cheap price, do not listen to the world and trust ur heart’s voice.Most of the guys who make noises about this car have not even once driven it and they actually deserve a Maruti.
Fiat Palio is not for sheeps who follow one another, its for lions who make their own way. I agree there are some glicthes in the services but then you can always compromise with it when you have such a lovely machine.and its not that bad either, Tata guys are doing a nice job with its servicing and the situation has improved alot.
Ok guys, I have shared my views with all of you, These are my original views and are not biased. I am open for criticism as well.I just wanna say, how many ppl you see complaining abt their Palios inspite of such a poor service network.
And do u think maruti could survive with a service network like that of fiat.Probably that would answer why Maruti has such a good service network and why Fiat lacks it.
I know that Fiat’s top brass and marketing guys are doing injustice to such a good product, but then whats the fault of their engineers who made such a masterpeice.
I just wanna say, I love Palio and I would buy another one if ever I sell this one.Cheeeeerssss
