Petra (petrol 1.6) after 1 year and 8000 kms...

Bad experiences:

  • I left it in the Chennai sun for a month while I was abroad, and when I came back it did not start. Called up the 24-hr guarantee support, they replaced a relay on which some moisture had condensed. Must be a substandard part.

  • Once I forgot to press the unlock button and pulled the door handle sharply, the hinge gave way almost breaking away the plastic handle from the metalic body. Again plastic quality must have been bad. I dont know how much it will cost as a part of the hinge is still intact so havent yet replaced it.

  • Third gear doesnt go below 25kmph, so have to change to 2nd gear in very heavy traffic and jams. Brings down the efficiency in city driving to 10 kmpl.

  • Havent seen too many of these on the road. People still think Fiat is Premier Padmini!!

Good experiences:

  • The extra power helps, I easily zoom ahead of the rest of the traffic as soon as the traffic lights go green.

  • Glides like an aircraft on highways. Drove at 70-120kmph between 2-3.5k rpm from Chennai to Pondicherry and back, got a fuel average of 16kmpl with AC.

  • The AC is cool and the trunk is huge. Rides well on potholes and feels safe and sturdy.
