I felt it was time for me to upgrade wheels (from 2 to 4 to be precise)..not very well versed driving a car, a likely option struck me in the form to buy an inexpensive, comfortable, medium if not big, and maybe expendible in terms of bruises, dents and rough usage that can be encountered in the process of mastering Mumbai streets & roads.
By some coincidence, I was able to commence this experiment with a used 118NE , model 1996, with around 90000 on the odometer , and with a friendly garage wallah to endorse my decision.
In these couple of months, I got to develop a liking for this piece of machinery, given a riding comfort that can be termed as sublime, smooth gearshift , and spaciousness.
But as it is ..like with a rose come the thorns...(maybe out of context as 118 is an outdated creature neverthless)
Hunting for spares can be a pain!!
Body is Dying to rust and corrode!!
Overall it is a good experience for me at least with the miniscule amout of money I had to part with.
