Chartbuster is the right word to describe ’Aaja Ve Mahi’. This song contains all the ingredients necessary to make it a super hit. It has some Punjabi beats, Western beats, Indian beats and some rap flavour by Blaise as well. Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik sound so fresh and with the echo effect for the antra part, their voices sound even better. Kareena and Shahid also recite some lines. Kareena’s voice is very sexy in this one. A catchy tune, great orchestration and a sure winner in the clubs. This song will be a rage if well publicised because it is very trendy.
The next song starts first with a catchy whistling, beats, a chorus, violins, guitar bits and then Udit Narayan sings ‘Nazar Nazar’. The song is catchy, simple, melodious and fast-paced. It is a better version of a previous Anu Malik song sung by Udit Narayan himself in Aarzoo (Main Aa Raha Hoon). He’s so energetic and sings it flawlessly. The orchestration is heavy and you can hear the violins very well. But the arrangement is perfect with all the Indian instruments. Sapna Mukherjee (after a long time) sings a few lines and she’s good in this one. Typical Anu Malik track from his song bank which will be an instant hit. There is also an Instrumental Version of this one. No doubts that this song will bring the movie in the spotlight.
Alisha Chinoy and Sonu Nigam sing ‘Maine Jisko Chaha’ with enthusiasm. The song starts with ‘la la la’ by Alisha who sets the mood of the song. The track is peppy, fast-paced and very 80s disco. It’s a mix of beats and melody backed by Alisha’s sexy voice. The background score is very upbeat with a black voice in the interlude and with rock guitar bits. It can do very well in the clubs. However, the heavy orchestration and the unnecessary chorus make the song sound a bit stale. The song ends with the whistling of ’Nazar Nazar’.
I am sure some lavish locations will back the romantic ‘Dil Mere Naa’. Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik are good in singing these kind of songs. A song most suited for the 90s. The song turns out to be ok. Once again, a song like we have heard from Anu Malik before. The melody saves this one from the mediocre category. However, there are some stupid English lyrics like ‘I love you, love you, like crazy’. My advice to Sameer: If you love someone, of course, you are crazy in love. You can’t be a ‘part time’ lover.
Kumar Sanu and Alka Yagnik deliver ‘Aaj Kaho Sanam Jitna ’ in their 90s style.Unfortunately, the song is like set in 1994 and sounds old. Although Kumar Sanu is very rare these days, this song will not help him much. The tune is good with melody and nice arrangements here. A track which will be popular among the masses. Once again, the choreography will make this song a winner.
Tips Films always mean business when it comes to the music of their films. The album contains a song for everyone. The songs are peppy, catchy and melodious. Of course, do not expect some experimentation with different sounds and some songs like in ‘Kyun! Ho Gaya Na’. The songs are composed with a view to become popular and hits. This is because Tips Films is the producer. They want the songs to help the movie and this album will do the job. Notice that although the star cast is young, all the singers are trained ones and have already proved themselves. Sameer does an average job here. Kudos to Anu Malik who comes with an album with hit songs.With 2 dance tracks and some melodious songs, ‘Fida’ is much like ‘Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega’.
