At the begining of worldcup 2006 who would have thought that final would be between france and italy.... Even France and Italy also would not have predicted the same.
Today I am writing this review just half an hour before the much awaited event.......
Just on the day when the world cup started a friend of mine asked me which team do u support and somehow I wanted to give different answer than the usual (germany, brazil, argentina etc) , I rem zidane and told I support france ...... (seriously I had italy also in mind LOL) .....
Even I had not expected these 2 teams enter grand finale............
Since the begining, in the first round spain, germany were the two most impressive teams....
France n italy both had not so gud first rounds...... but they made it......
Nobody expected france to beat brazil but they did with one single goal ..... in the same way Italy outplayed the host nation Germany in the very last minutes of extra time when the entire german nation was thinking about penulties, italy scored 2 quick goals in 118 n 121 minutes to outclass the host nation......
In todays game, italy has advantage...... in the last game they were strong...
But each game is unique and different.....
Some players that made their mark in this competition were , Zidane(FRa), Klose (Ger), Podolski( Ger), Ballack (Ger), Portugal Goal keeper, Roberto Carlos (por)..............
Some players that didn’t perform upto expected were Backhem (Eng), Rooney (Eng) , Ronaldo (Bra), Ronaldinio (Bra)...........
Some of the striking events : Red card to Rooney against Portugal ..... England playing wiht 10 players and then losing in penulties.....
Brazil stunned by France.....
Though playing gud, host nation were not able to make in top 2 against strong italian defense. though they made it to number 3 by beating portugal.....
One match(por) where 2 red and 16 yellow cards were distributed by refery....
Overall a surprising unpredictable game of football but that how it should be as its game..........
May the better performing team win today and take Football 2006...........
