When going to apply for a job, we know we are going to have to fill out an application as this is standard procedure at any place.
Make a list at home before you go with your work history in order and the correct dates, contact people and so on. This will make it easier when you go to fill in the application so that dates are not forgotten. If you worked for a company for 11 1/2 years just put down 12 if less than a 1/2 year bring it down to 11.
Make sure you take your own pen, your social security card, a picture I.D. and you will probably need the name, address and phone number of your doctor as some places will want you to have an exam or to check your medical background to make sure you are drug free and also that you have no condition that might prevent you from doing the job, such as a bad back if the job requires heavy lifting.
If there is anything else you want to add to the application such as an explanation of why you left a job and there is no room for it simply note please see reverse side and write out your explanation there.
Take your time and make sure it is neatly done. When you have finished go back and check it over before handing it in to make sure you have left no blank spaces.
Dress as you would for an interview as you may very well get one the day that you are there and first impressions are always the lasting ones so put your best foot forward.
