’’filmfare’’, everybody has heard this name and some will be even subscribers of this magazine. but before anybody can think of critisising or praising this magazine we have to look into someaspects of this magazine.the fact is that at present this is the widely circulated film magazine in india with more than 1 lakh subscribers excluding occasional buyers of this magazine like me . but we cannot just decide the rating of any product/item by the number of its circulation. well , looking into other aspects , is another fact that this magazine is a product of the times group, one of the most loved publication in india. ok, but there are also some people who donot like it, for reasons unknown to me. but the fact is that filmfare is a magazine worth reading at least once.
starting off with some facts , the people involved in bringing out each issue of filmfare are all well experienced people. so far so good, but the main catch in many people including me not liking filmfare is the fact that the many things in the magazine are either false or blown out of proportion.
the basic aims of magazines should be to give only the truth of any aspect to the people . there is also another catch i.e. the second aspect is that magazines are required to be people friendly, not star friendly. but this magazine seems to give people the wrong information to the people in order to be on the side of the stars . arre , if sunjay dutt is involved in the underworld tell to the people that he is. though everybody is seeing what is going on, this magazine seems to be saying that he is innocent.
these are some of the aspects that bring out the negativity involved in this magazine. but I think that this magazine is readable to some extent for some of the good interviews . but anyway this magazine is worth reading atleast once.
