I saw Final Destination on film last night and found it a really wierd film! It is a horror film that starts off very well but then becomes a very predictable and scary film. It follows the line of a typical horror film, an incident occurs and then everyone has their ’turn’ to die. I generally dont really enjoy horror movies as I am a wimp (!) and find them very predictable and boring.
This film has some very impressive special effects and is based on the idea of whether we can cheat fate or not. It is based on american students who are on a school trip to Paris, they get on the plane and one of them has a dream (preminition) that the plane will explode. I wont give away anything else in case you havent seen it. Bascially the rest of the film revolves around whether people die or not! It involves the creepy music, suspense and ghostly goings on of all horror films.
I have never heard of most of the actors in this film before, except for a Dawsons Creek actor (the one that plays jack) and one of the blokes from American Pie. Although the film was better than some horror films I have seen, I dont think it was very impressive. It is way too predictable to be a good film and too gory for me (although only a 15). It is available to rent now so if you like your films gory and scary then rent it now and see what you think.
