Finding a job is quite easy over the net if you know how to look for it. In India it has become a thriving industry. Forming online centres for recruitment.
I personally would like to go by the offers in the newspapers but it takes getting used to clicking for a job :).
Anyway the first important criteria to find a good job online is to have easy access to the internet. If you do not have frequent access to your email system applying is of no use as you will have to keep in touch quite frequently, check your mails, watch for new openings, etc.

If you do not find what you are looking for, don’t be impatient. Patience is required. In fact job searching over the net is a process in its own. Remember, there are many people out there who may be looking for the same job.
Post it to consultants
While you are searching for jobs yourself don’t forget to post your resumes to consultants online in your local area. Many consultants have a site for receiving resumes. They will definitely contact you if there is an opening.
When you are posting your resume, format your resume in simple text form so that its legible to everyone accessing it. Only if you are posting your resume directly to the company in paper form or email, you can format according to the present standards.
Personal Networking
This is the best way to find a job if you have a good networking. Keep in touch with jobs related discussion boards.. your friends and colleagues even if they leave your company...
You can get to know many of the hidden job openings in the related companies. Did you know that 70% of the jobs are hidden and can be known only through networking ?
