Danielle Steel has outdone herself with Fine Things. Her books always make me very emotional. Almost all her books are woman oriented - and involve sacrifice, separation, pain which incidentally all revolve around the main theme -Love!
Fine Things is different as it is one of the few books that concentrate on a hero instead of a heroine. The hero here is Bernie Fine who finds the love of his life, only to have her tragically snatched away from him (youll need tissues for this part!). But the bad times for Bernie dont stop there. There are some heartrending moments before things fall in place for Bernie. Set primarily in California & the Napa Valley, Danielle Steels descriptions are very vivid.
There are certain scenes in Fine Things that pull at your heart strings. Not a single person to whom I have lent the book has been able to return the book dry-eyed. Danielle Steel has this way of weaving a story around you in such a way that you wont be able to put the book down till its finished! This book is not to be missed.
Other excellent titles by Danielle Steel are Family Album, The Ring & Remembrance. The latter two are set during the World Wars - and haunt you long after youve finished reading them!
