I am a regular at Fiorano and it is definitely the best Italian restaurant in Bangalore and possibly in the top 3 overall.
I like the ambience, and though not perfect - chipped wall corners, unkempt arrangement at crowded times, no quiet corners(esp. when the place is full of kids) - it is certainly better than most places. I like the muted, simplistic white decor, it gives a California feel and is relatively quiet when one considers the noise and pollution immediately outside(Koramangla).
The food is mind blowing - a very European, Italian taste - and can definitely be classified as gourmet. I love the Ham pizza and the red bean and bacon soup. Highly recommended!
However, the biggest reason I love Fiorano is because it makes its own fresh cheeses and breads. They make the best baguettes in town and their breadsticks are wonderful(not the Indianized cumin flavoured ones you get in othe places - those suck!). All their bread and cheese is excellent and very reasonably priced. I like their Mozarella and Riccotta best.
On top of that, its very good to see well groomed, well dressed, good looking waiters who treat you nicely and give prompt service. They certainly get better tips from me than do other places.
All in all, an excellent place to dine out with your girlfriend. Possibly the best place for a date, but be prepared for the tab - a good meal for two without wine will set you back at least Rs. 1000.
