A good place to hangout

Night spots in Bangalore crop up with regularity. They tend to be top of the line with interiors and events to pull in the trendy crowd. And then there are non assuming places which believe in music & beer. While Pecos is the master of that, Firangi Paani is quite close. It does try to be between a Pecos & say i-Bar. But its offerings are a warm laid back atmosphere - tad smoky but nice. Good drinks and a food menu that is well supported by Sahib Sindh Sultan next door.

They do charge you cover at the door on weekend - that is where they try to stand apart from the pubs. Inside, the place is quite cramped. Seating is limited. The music arrangement leaves a lot to be desired. We were standing at the right end of the bar and we could hear music playing to our right.

But the choice of music was good. Retro numbers from the 80s...nothing too heavy or detestable like Hiphop (I know that music has its own fans). I could have liked a little bit more of rock but then thats me. They make you use Forum’s restrooms which is kinda sad considering almost all their clientele will need to pee. The beer was good.

The service prompt. They offer complimentary nibbles to go with your drink - that is a fresh change. All in all, a good BJN group touch to the place. It attracts a nice crowd who just want to chill and not appear wannabe types You can see me there on more Fridays & Saturdays than just last weekend.
