Fast-paced Ride!!

Firestarter by Stephen King. two students take a part in an unusual medical study taking drugs that could possibly promote psychic phenomena and for sake of earning two hundred dollars when you’re a student two hundred dollars is gonna be quite useful.

I’ve read now quite a few Stephen King work and it’s safe to say that Firestarter is quite slow. It takes time to develop the story. It’s not like his other page-turners like The Shining and The Stand. Characterization of Charlie with her terrifyingly creepy abilities wasn’t actually the scariest person in the book.

Most of the bad guys in this book they felt like one-dimension. There was some jarring scene in here once that didn’t really fit in with the rest of the book.

I found this very fast-paced. I like character building with the interesting story and side characters. It’s very precisely written book.

This wasn’t a standout Stephen king book to me.
