Novels are really interesting when it can be visualised. Since I am a John Grisham fan, I wanted to read his best novel. I read The Firm. It has been a thrilling book full of suspenses and cool escapes.
The Story...
Let me get to the story. Mitchell Mcdeere, a Harvard law student is approached by a legal firm, Bendini, Lambert and Locke. The Firms offering fascinates Mitch. The Firm offers stuffs like BMW, a house on loan, an extremely high salary for a rookie lawyer. Since Mitch had been poor, he accepts the offer without a second thought. Then, its a happy ride for Mitch. He gets paid heavily. But, little does Mitch know that his house, car, bedroom everything has been wired by the firm. They listen to every word, He speaks with his wife. A man namely, DeVasher is situated in the 5th floor of the firm listening to every thing. When Mitch is contacted by Tarrance, an FBI agent, and informed about the firm, Mitch doesnt believe it. The truth which Tarrance tells is horrifying. The Firm is under the Mafia heads, the Moroltos.
Well, with the way the proceedings go on, Mitch gets suspicious. Especially after the meeting with the FBI chief, he believes the truth. He agrees to cooperate with the FBI to put the Firm members behind bars. He agrees to do this for a whopping sum of 2 million dollars. The FBI hesistant in the beginning, finally accept to the offer.
Mitch starts copying the illegal case files ( or dirty ones) and gives them to the FBI. He gets away along with his wife from the country, to the Carribean islands after this.
The book was thrilling and had the Grisham touch. I should say this is Grishams best. The legal author has proven his class again.
