As we move through this year of 2001, we must have seen so many changes in this cinema which is now more than 100 year old, and during this tenure, we may have come across a number of artist in our life, some good , some average performer, we can’t say bad , as no body are, we have to decide that, and these are may some way or the other could change our life and way of looking at cinema.
We may someway or the other have this instinct of categorising some of our favourites or best in this cinema, some beautiful, gorgeous and some with great artistic talent which made us stick to this cinema.
Today I had a chance of putting up a list of actress, whom I have selected from the few I have come across in this cinema and thought were best according to me.
1) Madhubala : The very first film I saw of her was Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi casted opposite Kishore Kumar (again my favourite as an actor and singer). She had that mischeveous look and a great smile to hold a lot of hearts. I thought she was all good in the films that she did and that I saw of hers. Her Movies I liked the best (CKNG , Half Ticket, Mughal e Azam, Taj Mahal and others.)
2) Madhuri Dixit : I saw her first in Tezaab cast opposite Anil Kapoor , they were then best hot pair of this cinema, and were then casted in many of forthcoming movies later. She has the look of the Madhubala , my favourite and a great smile again, I probably must have seen her all movies till date. Great character control and great strong approach towards the role were strong power which I found in her. Her Movies I liked the best ( Tezaab, Dil, Beta, Jamai Raja, Dil to Pagal Hai, HAHK, Lajja)
3) Karisma Kapoor : She came like a fresh breeze in this indian cinema, where no female from the family of Kapoor were made to act, she dare to join the industry and prove her versitality in her performance, I thought she was gifted actress, and her very first film ’’Prem Qaidi’’ showed that. May be it to much for a tender age, but managed to come up fighting all odds in this industry. It was ’’Raja Hindustani’’ where she was cast opp. Aamir Khan (My favourite again) , brilliant performance by both to win the Filmfare awards that year. She has been successfully casted opposite Govinda, to give us many enjoyable and hits movies to watch. Her Great look , wonderful approach and lovely eyes completes this lady of my heart. Her Movies I liked the best ( Coolie no 1, Hero No 1, Raja Hindustani, Fiza, SCS and others)
4) Kajol : She is daughther to Tanuja, who was herself an good actress of her time. Kajol has carved her way to this industry by her brilliant performance on screen , she has been paired opposite to Shahrukh Khan , which is considered a hot pair in this industry after their hit in DDLJ, which also won them the awards for that year, Her versitality to perform intense scenes is her strenght. Great calibre, great look and a wonderful smile to complete this lady. Her Movies I liked the best (DDLJ, KKCH, and more)
5) Tabu : Brilliant approach to any role any character of the film, intense or fun, goes with ease with this young lady. Tabu had performed all types of roles and the recently released Chandi Bar, where she has acted beautifully and has done justice to the character she played in this film. Any actress would have thought twice before going in for this role, but for Tabu this is something to prove her versitality as an actress. Her Movies I liked the best (Maachis, SCS, Chandni Bar and more)
After this five brilliant actress I would like to add a few more who looks promising and join my list as I go ahead with life.
6) Kareena Kapoor : Sister to Karisma Kapoor (My Favourite) , joined this industry last year with the release of Refugee and looked promising in the role which was tough for a debutant, but it was taken at ease by this young girl, appreciated for her performance in the movie , she was awarded the Best Debutant Actress of the year , in that particular year. Kareena looks promising for the future of the actress with the kind of roles she is doing in her forthcoming films, Her good looks and strong approach keep me interested in her. Her Movies I liked the best (Refugee, Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai, Asoka, Yaadein)
Rani Mukherjee : Cousin to Kajol , she was introduced in Karan Johar’s KKHH, where her smile and act gave me to decide this favourite spot to her, I like in all role that she has done, naughty , mischeavous , sweet looks and very strong approach is a what I like about her. Does’nt miss many good opportunities. Want to see more in sensible scripts and opp good actors. Her Movies I liked the best (KKHH, Nayak, Hey Ram, and more.
These are my best actress according to their performance and looks I thought of having them closer to me, it doesn’t that the other actress are bad performers , they are good no doubt, but could be that I had my own opinion about them.
