There is a long history of Hindi cinema.Those days girls from good family never used to act in films.It was very difficult to search talents.I would like to start from that era.
1)Nargis-She was most modern but versatile actress.With Rajkapoor she played mod role(Chori Chori;Awara etc.)but as a village woman(mother) acted very well in Mr.Mehaboob Khan’s MOTHER INDIA>(First Oscar entry from India)
2)Madhubala=Most beautiful woman in India in those days.(So called VENUS of India)She was not only beautiful without makeup;but a vesatile actress.(From Chalti ka nam gadi to Barsat ki rat;mughale Azam.all different kind of roll.
3)Mena Kumari-called as TRAGEDY QUEEN.Sahib bib gulam;Phool aur pathar.Kohinoor.Azad.)This lady has tragedy in her own private life.But her performance on the screen was extraordinary.She can make people cry.
4)Vajyanti mala--Being a leading heroin in 50s & 60s she was best dancer.(Any dance)Her dance in Jewel Thief is still remembered as best dance in hindi movie.(Hontope unki yaad).In NAAGIN(Original); Kathputli also with with superb dances she acted better than others.
5)Madhuri Dikshit-Every body today knows her top achievements.with so much competition she was on top for 10 years.
