Ghazal Maestro--Jagjit Singh

No need to introduce this ghazal maestro. The blessed voice is just like you are taking honey through ears. He has always sung with great intension and with all of his responsibilities to sing. People who like to listen live music and would have any chance to listen Jagjit Singh live certainly know the fact that his voice is 100 times more soothing live then it is in recording form of tapes. I have this experience two times and found him gorgeous. In this review I have took the ghazals which actually become the most successful ones and they give the equal taste whether you listen them live or recorded.

~Kisi Nazar ko Tera. Every single album with oldies goldies hits will include this ghazal in special. The music and the execution of singing is remarkable with the lyrics you will be stunned. While listening this ghazal I came to know the correct meaning of all time hit, forever n ever this is a treat for music lovers.

The lyrics goes like this:

Kisi Nazar Ko Tera Intizaar Aaj Bhi Hai

Kahan Ho Tum Key Yeh Dil Beqaraar Aaj Bhi Hai

Na Jaanay Dekh Kay Un Ko Yeh Howa Ehsas Keh

Meray Dil Pay Unhain Ikhtiyar Aaj Bhi Hai

Yakeen Nahin Hai Magar Aaj Bhi Yeh Lagta Hai

Meri Talaash Main Shayad Bahar Aaj Bhi Hai

~Main Bhool Jaaoon tumhain. Javed Akhter and Jagjit Singh, in album called SILSILAY, joined hand after long time and produce simply unforgettable ghazals. My pick of all was this one the lyrics and the delivery of words is special. If you are a sensitive person I am sure you will love this ghazal bcaz of its lyrics and with Jagjit Singh Sahab?s voice makes it gem.

The lyrics goes like this:

Main Bhool Jaoon Tumhain Ab Yehi Munasib Hai

Magar Bhulana Bhi Chahoon To Kis Tarhah Bhooloon

Kay Tum To Phir Bhi Haqeekat Ho Koi Khaab Nahin

Yahan To Dil Ka Yeh Alam Hai Kya Kahoon

Bhula Saka Nay Yeh Who Silsila Jot Tha Hi Nahin

Woh Ek Khayal Jo Awaz Tak Gaya Hi Nahin

Woh Ek Baat Jo Main Keh Nahin Saka Tum Se

Woh Ek Rabt Jo Hum Main Kabhi Raha Hi Nahin

Mujhe Hai Yaad Who Sab Jo Kabhi Jo Hiwa Hi Nahin.

~ Tum Itna Jo Muskura Rahay ho. I think almost every one remember this ghazal from the movie Arth in 1983. this is so simple and so cute ghazal that one never wan this ghazal to end. Its lyrics are really special:

Tum Itna Jo Muskura Rahay Ho

Kya Gham Hai Jis Ko Chupa Rahay Ho?.

Ban Jaein Gay Zeher Petay Petay

Yeh Ashk Jo Petay Ja Rahay Ho?.

Jin Zakhmoon Ko Waqt Bhar Chala Hai

Tum Kyon Unhain Cheray Ja Rahay Ho?

~ Woh kagaz ki kashti. Evergreen ghazal. Falling in memories the description of the characters of the past and simply like a imagination which is created in your mind with feeling that you are dreaming. The lyrics are very special again:

Yeh Daulat Bhi Lay Lo Yeh Shohrat Bhi Lay Lo

Bhalay Cheen Lo Mujhse Meri Jawani

Magar Mujh Ko Lauta Do Bachpan Ka Sawan

Woh Kagaz Ki Kashti Woh Barish Ka Paani?

~ Aisi Aankhain Nahin Dekhin. The very beautiful ghazal used in the movie AAP KO PEHLAY BHI KAHIN DEKHA HAI. Nikhil Vinay composes this very soulful master piece Asha gi?s voice gives a good support to Jagjit Sahab. This is a very romantic ghazal. The lyrics goes like this:

Aisi Aankhian Nahin Dekheen

Aaisa Kajal Nahin Dekha

Aaisa Jalwa Nahin Dekha

Aaisa Chehra Nahin Dekha

Jab Yeh Daman Ki Hawa Dain

Aag Jungle Main Laga Dain

Jab Yeh Sehraoon Main Jaein

Raiet Main Phool Khilaey?

The list does not ends here but the topic is to choose best five so these are my top five ones. There may be difference in choices but some how these will not be the disliked ones.

Thankz

It?s Sana
