The non-film music industry is sustained by remixes. And remixes alone. What are these tracks all about?Essentially, they are rehashes of old melodies with catchy beats added to spice things up.A dazzling video with dishybabes is also created to promote what is often a simple but elegant song. The five remixes I have chosen here were all popular songs in their day.Their remixes have been given a dancable profile what with lively acoustics and imaginatively created video. My emphasis is on the richness of the complete experience both visual and audio. Here goes:
.Nahin Nahin Abhi Nahin(DJ Aqeel, The Daddy Mix):Here was one of the most controversial songs of its time fromJawani Diwani.Aqeel made it sound contemporary. The video was really exciting and young with debutant Ayesha Takia in it.
.Koi Shehri Babu(UMI-10, Harry Anand):This was a simple lovesong. In came Reshma Bombaywala and made it sensual. The svelte lady danced into the hearts of eager men with her calisthenics while this song fromLoafer was sung by Saswati.
.Zamana Kya Kahega(Bombay Vikings):A great song from the filmPaying Guest.Bombay Vikings not only made the song very modern he was able to create what was undoubtedly the finest video for any remix song.
.Woh Lamhe(Zeher, DJ Suketu):DJ Suketu is a personal favorite so I thought I would include his best song. The original track was slow and out of tune completely.Suketu gave the song by Atif life really.
.Ek Ankh Maroon-Bankas(DJ Aqeel):A great song for people who think that to be racy can also be funny.Alicia Raut danced really well to this song fromTohfa and the whole thing was a pulsating experience.
