To me, an actor has to be so many things to be a truly great actor. They have to remind you of a real man. I hate getting to the movie theater and seeing a man who is one I can’t imagine spending time with. For example, Tom Cruise never really seems real to me. He’s a carciture of all the male stereotypes that movies eat up. The following actors are men who have range, depth, a brand of attractiveness and heart.
- Tom Hanks
I can’t imagine anyone not adding him to their list. He has played a developmentally disabled man, a homosexual with Aids, a castaway, a military man and so many other roles. He is the kind of man you could imagine actually knowing in daily life. I find his wealth of talent indispensable to Hollywood.
Edward Norton- I am fascinated by the complex roles he chooses. American History X is probably one of the best dramas of the nineties. Fight Club, in its excessive violence, is a vivid and frightening picture of mental illness. He is constantly challenging himself with complex and intricate roles.
Bruce Willis- Versatile enough to move from hard core action to the powerful drama of The Sixth Sense, I find him impressive. Ruggishly handsome with a boyish charm, he makes a sexy leading man with just enough charisma and macho dogma to mae a movie.
Nicolas Cage- Although he sometimes misses with his role choice, everyone must admit that when he is hot, he is hot. I found him incredible in ’’Face Off’’ and have enjoyed him all the way back to his early career.
Gary Senise- Everytime I see him in a move, the man just steals the show. He is the saving grace of clunkers, the crucial support in blockbusters and the guy can play pretty much any role. I really admire his ability.
These actors have a lot of talent and really make the movies they are in believable. I have been absorbed and astounded by the movies they have been in. I hope their careers continue for many years to come.
