Five Most Inspirational Songs
Inspiration is a word that a pregnant woman associates with her child in womb. Inspiration was what Mahatma Gandhi was to our nation when he brought us freedom from the Britishers.
Inspiration is what Shahrukh Khan is to the millions of film lovers who see him on the silver screen year after year and still not get enough of him.
Inspiration is how Amitabh Bacchann puts up class performances and gives the other actors a run for their money even at this age.
You can be inspired by anything in this world and what better example than our own actors performing in front of the silver screen. Right from the days of the?Raja Harish Chandra? till date, movie songs have always inspired us.

I had reached my college for my presentation on the total quality management presentation and was about to speak on the spiral growth of Mangalore Refinery(A subsidiary of ONGC) in the past 2 years. I was supposed to be concluding the presentation and have given so many presentations in my life. But this day was different simply because the professor was a disciplinarian and demanded the content to be the best and if the criteria were not met, we would have to re do the whole thing.
I got up at 6:30 in the morning and went through my daily chores before I set out to my college. As I was having my morning tea there was the usual songs(item numbers, jazzy songs which to me make little sense though the tunes are hummable) that were being played. As I was looking here and there I heard the song that has always surged my spirits for the past few months. The song was from SRK starrer Swades and the song? Yeh Jo Des Hai Tera, Swades Hai Tera . I do not know what the song does, but it gets me goose bumps whenever I hear it. Sung beautifully by none other than our very own A. R. Rehman , this song is a sure treat to the ear buds.
If one observes, the first song that you hear in the morning will be heard by you at least 2-3 times in the day. And that is what happened when I went to the college; one guy was humming the tune. Even I started the very same tune.
I sat at the first row in one corner and entered our professor. The presentation was delayed as the LCD was giving some trouble. I was already nervous and all these events added fuel to the fire. The presentation finally began with my group member starting with the first sub-topic. The show was picking pace and my chance finally came up.
I stood up and could feel my hand virtually shivering, I took out my kerchief. I thought I managed to hide my nerves but it was not to be and just when I was stammering, there was a call on my friend?s cell. The ring tone for 6600 nokia cell which he has was the same tune which I had been hearing since morning; I do not what happened to me, I just started to speak slowly. There was this unusual voice modulation that was happening in my speech which I had last witnessed when I had spoken about none other than Adolf Hitler. I spoke for about 6 minutes and explained to the class the reason for making the whole damn presentation.
I concluded with the quote ?just because you cannot see something does not mean it is not there?. . There was pin drop silence in the class after I finished and I did not know what happened! As I went to sit, my professor rose up and clapped for the presentation. There was a sudden thunderous applause which lasted for more than 2 minutes.
Well, this is what an inspired one can do even with a lot of nervousness to go with. The first song symbolizes a cry for those Indians who work abroad instead of sweating it out for our own motherland.
The second song is from the movie Upkaar
There have been umpteen songs in Hindi cinema which has been an inspiration to me right from childhood. The songs in the Manoj Kumar?s movie?Upkaar? which had a the famous song Mere Desh Ki Dharthi is again a song that brings goose bumps to anyone who hears. The pitch for this song was so high that the singer apparently could not even speak properly days after he had sung it. In those times, songs were sung at a stretch and not sung in parts as it is done these days.
Haan Yehi Rasthaa Hai Tera
Well, if songs could bring the least motivated to show the way then this song does it to the core. Sung by none other Shankar Mahadevan, this song was from the film Lakshya and was picturised on Hrithik Roshan. Many times it so happens that the songs are sung so well, but the director does not do justice to it. I am not blaming the director but the viewer who listens to the album first before seeing the song in the film feels dejected to say the least.
But this song was picturised beautifully by farhan Akhtar and formed the essential part of the film and this song shows the transition of a mission less Hrithik to someone who gives his best to become what he had initially set for.
Mera Mulk Mera Desh, Mera Yeh Watan
Well, many people would be thinking as to which film this guy is talking about! **The movie was?Dil Jale? which starred Ajay Devgan, Sonali Bendre, and the late Amrish Puri among others. The music was composed by Anu Malik and to me it has been one of the lovely albums of Anu Malik. It was not a very high profile song which could draw the masses as it was a very sober song and when you hear it you would feel very good about this country from inside.
Bharat Pyara, Desh Hamaara hai
*Well, some songs are meant to become chartbusters and every song in this movie was composed by new entrant A.R. Rehman way back in the nineties. This song sung by Hariharan is been picturised beautifully and one of the few songs which you can go on hearing from time to time and yet never feel bored.
Songs from time in memorial have inspired us and will continue to do so till time exists. I hope I have made sense in the songs that I felt had inspired me and the incident that I have mentioned here actually happened and that is when I probably realized how a simple song can do so much difference to me. It is time for you all to get inspired!
*Am I heard? Kindly drop in your comments after you have read the review. Before I end I wish you all a very Happy Holi to you and to your family.
