Aamir at his best!

Having written about his worst films, here are my choices for this charismatic Khan’s best films. He is a top notch actor, and given the right script he is magic on screen.

1) **Sarfarosh**: Aamir plays a cop out to get hardcore terrorists. He is an avid fan of a ghazal singer whose music he adores. How he goes about the task keeps the audience engrossed right till the end of the film.

2) **Lagaan**: This film is about the story of a bunch of uneducated villagers in the pre-independence era who challenge the English - what better way than at the game of cricket. This film was quite entertaining and made it to the top five foreign films at the Oscars.

3) **Rang De Basanti**: Aamir’s role as DJ in this film was liked by one and all(For the most part). He plays the character of a 25 year old guy who refuses to give up the college lifestyle even though he long since graduated and finally pays the ultimate price of the sake of his country.

4) **Dil Chahta Hai: **Aamir again represents a section of the youth in this role. He does not believe in love and takes impulsive decisions. This film has an ensemble cast and I had truly enjoyed watching this film.

5) **Qayamat Se Qayamt Tak**: Aamir’s first film in a lead role. He exuded a boyish charm and innocence in this film. I am told that this film was an instant hit back then and a new star was born - It was Aamir Khan.

In addition to the above films, I would also like to add the following films:

1) **Raakh

*2)** Ghulam*

3) **Raja Hindustani*

4) **Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar *

5) **1947 Earth*

(14)
