When it comes to sanjay dutt and anil kapoor movies, I have never missed’em right from the start I have watched each and single movies of these two superstars. Anil kapoor has his own style, talk is different, does his action different and he has a different walk from other actors, that’s what makes him one of the best actors of india.
Aawargi- This anil kapoor’s best performance in a movie till date, He playa a street thug named azaad. Who works for lala played anupam kher, lala is very fond of azaad, because he reminds lala of himself when lala used to do the same in his younger days. azaad is tired of his life and wants to do something good so when he dies he dies peacefully. One day he visits a brothel there’s he see a innocent girl played by meenakshi sheshadri, who trapped in the brothel, azaad takes her in to his house and makes her one of the best singer in india and falls in love with her and he laters discovers she is in love with another singer in band played by govinda. Anil kapoor sets the screen on fire with his emotional and hard hitting dialogues that comes out of his mouth. This role was made for him. ANumpam kher shines as lala, I have watched this movie like million times, because of these two actors in the movie. Govinda doesn’t have a great role. meenakshi sheeshadri is great also and so is paresh rawal as the villain. This is another underrated movie of mahesh bhatt.
Laadla- Another one of anil kapoor’s movies which was an award worthy performance anil kapoor lives with his widowed mother who is handicapped. He is unemployed and looking for a job, one he day saves a life of a big bussinessman played by anupam kher and anupam kher offers him a job at his factory, run by his spoilt daughter played by sridevi. all the emplooyees in the factory want anil kapoor to be the union leader, sridevi dislikes this idea, but anil kapoor runs for the union leader anyways, win the election, therefore sridevi decides to marry anil kapoor and wants to teach him a lesson, but after the wedding it’s anil kapoor who takes charge of everything. Anil kapoor does a great job the scenes with his mother farida jalal are great. This has got be included at number 2 at my list.
3. Chameli ki shaadi - This is one of the funniest movies in bollywood, anil kapoor plays a guy name charandas who is from the middle class family, falls in love with chameli(amritasingh) who is a little upperclass then his family. Both families disapprove the idea of them getting married, so vakil uncle( amjad khan) helps them get married. Anil kapoor is great I laughed in the whole movies, amrita singh is great as chameli this is probably her best performance, Each characters does good in the movie, pankaj kapoor is really funny.
4. Calcutta mail- Another one of his movies that should have done a very good job at the box office, it flopped due to the world cup cricket matches in 2003. Anil kapoor again excels in emotional scenes, who is in search of his son, who was kidnapped from his home and his wife was killed. The scene in the police station, when anil kapoor is yelling at the officers is a treat to watch. He is one actor who can do any type of a role.
Tezaab- A violent love story, I couldn’t forget the munna of teezab. Mahesh( anil kapoor becomes munna joins the nations armed forces to serve his country. During his college days he falls in love with mohni ( madhuri dixit). Mohini’s dad( anupam kher) is an alcolhic who wants mohini to take up prostitution and dancing so he can get his daily dose of alcohol. MOhini tends to take refugee with mahesh( anil kapoor) but circumstanes tangle mahesh to such an extent that he is arrested and charged and sentenced away from bombay city limits. When mahesh returns he is no longer the honest guy he used to be he turns into a gangster name munna. Anil kapoor also got a best actor award for this movie as well, madhuri’s ek do teen number is still famous today. Chunky pandey’s best acting in this movie as well.
My wife’s murder- This was very realistic movie baed on a real incident. IN fact the attitude of anil kapoor’s wife has been portrayed in a very realistic way which leaves a deep impact on your mind. The movie starts of boring, but where he accidentaly murder’s his wife the movie picks up slowly after that. What I loved about the movie was the ending, how he is explaining to his kids that he didn’t mean to murder their mom. What a performance he gives. He even produced the movie himself. So sad this movie didn’t do well.
Other good performances, Virasat, pukar(nation award), musafir, Lamhe, Beta, ram lakhan, rishtey, loafer, deewana mastana etc.
