I am honoured to write my favourite 5 movies of mammoty, one among the many living legends of Indian Cinema.These are just my personal favourites so you are free to disagree/agree!
5.Rajamanickyam(Dir:Anwar Rasheed)
This was a movie that projected the new mammotty on the silver screen.it broke the long held belief that mammotty cannot handle comedy.This movie swept the box office only because of mammotty’s amazing performance.This helped cine goers and directors sit up and take notice of another facet of the great mans acting skills.
4.Dalapathy(Dir:Mani Ratnam)
Although Rajnikanth was the hero of this movie this mammotty steals the show with his dignified presence and stellar performance.
3.Nair Saab(Dir:joshi)
I have lost count of the number of times I have seen this movie.mamotty was a rage when this movie was released.He plays the role of an army officer with a turbulent past.Excellent acting!!!
2.Oru Vadakkan Veeragadha(Dir:Hariharan)
The charecter played by mammotty (’chandu’)in this movie is the one which is the favourite of all mimicry artists.From the team of MT, Hariharan and mammotty comes this film which is all about power, love and betrayel.mammotty won a National award for this film.needless to say he was incandescent!
1.Mrugaya(Dir:IV sasi)
The numero uno for me is Mrugaya.although not many would agree with me on this, but I rate this movie to be the best one from the mammotty talent stable.He plays a roughie named warrunni, hired by villagers to kill a leopard which has terrorised the whole village.I cant find enough words to describe mammoty in this film.hes just too cool!!dont miss this one malayalees!!
