People look for news to be delivered with as much truth involved as possible, but nowadays its more about generating commercial viably incentives rather than delivering pure news, All kinds of masala is added to the actual story make it look all the more unreal, rather than be upfront with the points to be raised. Am listing down 5 anchors who are bearable, but may not be perfect themselves.
5) Rajat Sharma: Now am rating him at 5th only for his show aap ki adalat, he does raise some pertinent questions in a very straight forward manner, though his channel INDIA tv is a farce in itself.
4) Anjali Om kashyap: Again raises some good questions when conducting an interview, and tries to control people in a debate, the keyword beingTries. Her news reports are very straight forward though, which is appreciated.
3)P.Bajpai: Cool demure way of going about news report inDus Tak is good enough if you want to go through the news report and are not much concerned about the masala involved in it. But he lacks a lot when he conducts a debate. If you are looking for a summary of news reports once you reach home, then its better to switch over to aajtak at 10.
2)Arnab Goswami: If you are looking for a hot debate with people shouting and ranting all through, then NEWSHOUR is the place to be. Arnab does raise some good points, but sometimes he utterly self-destructs by acting like a participant himself rather than being a neutral anchor. Overall the debate 9 out of 10 times seems constructive and not inconclusive.
1)Ravish Kumar: At this moment he is the best anchor on Indian news television, His show primetime delves into small but very pertinent issues. He raises some valid points when on tour to different destinations and does add his view on what should be the solution, that for me is journalism at its best raising questions but trying to find the solutions as well. In his debate show he remains very neutral throughout and allows both sides to put their perspective.
Overall Conclusion: As I mentioned above journalism is not only about raising the questions but also about suggesting or trying to find the solutions by taking responsibility collectively as a society. Hoping for a better people entering into journalism and changing the outlook of journalism in India.
