Madonna Louisa Veronica Ciccone.
Its weird that someone who listens to Rock, Heavy Metal, Blues, Folk, New Age etc. would write on the best 5 songs of Madonna. Why not? The lady is gifted.
What inspired me from reading the odd pages from the life of Madonna is the fact that she evolved with the times and used ALL her resources to reach where she reached - the tip of the mountain called success. She set her own trends.
I admit I havent heard every single Madonna track because I found the earlier works pretty poppy(not the plant, like bubblegum pop poppy - Holiday. Celebrate.) and I got into Nine Inch Nails before I could hear some more Madonna, but some of the tracks I have heard have lingered. Here they are in no particular order:
La Isla Bonita - Madonna in a flamenco is a treat to watch and the song is cool.
Material Girl - I dont know why I picked this one but - its got youthful zest and is impish. You can crucify me for choosing this one:)
Frozen - she dabbled in easter mysticism and stuff. Who cares, its a great song.
The Power Of Goodbye - It almost made it to my STRUMMABLE tunes review. I love this song.
Rain(its a cover but she did it well) - probably one of the most beautiful ballads she has ever sung. Its a Peggy Sue cover but she does justice to the song.
That sums up this short review. Happy listening.
