NFAK* Redefined Music

I don’t know how this topic is created. You are putting twenty best by A R Rehman Anu Malik and others how the person who has contributed the most for the music as we listen today, given account for only five best songs. That is ridiculous. Still I manage to control my anger on the topic and found the way to escape in the way that I have chosen five best songs composed by NFAK for Bollywood Movies. As those are less in number as official credit to NFAK(Unofficially almost all new composers have tasted the plagiarism of his songs). Have a look in two to three years what his maestro produced for Indian Music Industry.

  1. Meri Sansoon Main Basa Hai

Udit Narayan & Alka Yagnik

Aur Pyar Ho Gaya

No doubt the best love ballad written exclusively by Javed Akhter and superlative composition by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. You just listen to the song once and will remember it for ever. The melody is in its best form and the arrangements are perfect. The unanimous style by NFAK gives a clue that he was on his peak when making this song. The difference between the two versions one by Udit and the other by Alka is clear while listening and they must be treated separately. The mood of both the songs are totally different and the way Nusrat Sahab treated them they get more powerful in their own style.

  1. Choti Umar Hai Meri

Mahalaxmi

Kartoos

You will be surprised to see this song here but I want to show the talent. The songs of Kartoos were composed by NFAK but arranged by Anu Malik. Fortunately this song was only one which was recorded before NFAK’s death so he is the arranger of this too. The special thing about the song is that song can be said as item number but when we look at the melody doze it make us double minded that either the song is item or melodious song that is the specialty of Nusrat Sahab’s music that he can do tricks in the music and you keep guessing whatz happening.

  1. Khali Dil Nahin

Hans Raj Hans & Alka Yagnik

Kache Dhage

Late Anand Bakshi Sahab wrote the song and very very well composed by Nusrat Sahab. A very situational number but the originality and upbeat music take the song to a category of most loved songs. The pain coming out of the vocals give you the idea about the situation of the film in which it was used. It shows his talent that he can be highly situational and what the song demands he could give. You listen to this song today and feel freshness in it even today. Another song of the same movie Pyar Nahin Karna sung by Kumar Sanu & Alka Yagnik was also very popular and just missed the list.

  1. Thoda Sa Pagla

Asha Bhosle

Aur Pyar Ho Gaya

A trendy song in a unique style. Asha Bhosle sung the song in a cute manner.  The very good thing about the song is the way it was arranged and lyrics off course are plus point in the song. NFAK blend melody in a very different style that people would remember for years. Lyrics represent the whole India so as the music the beauty of the song is its simplicity. Remind you this was the first movie which NFAK done for Indian Cinema. He also have a special appearance in the movie.

  1. Saya Bhi Sath Jab

Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan

Dillagi

The song was composed in 1994 and released in 2000 or 2001 but you look at the beauty of the song that will turn your mood. A haunting melody with some outstanding arrangements leads to a superlative melodious song. the song was actually not composed for this movie as particular but Dharmindera Productions got its rights for their movie Dillagi(previously named London). I thought I have written a review on best tragic song how this was overlooked I can’t remember but this was leading in that category. Javed Akhter wrote it and very beautifully written it. The one song to forget and to remember.

Nusrat list is still short but I have the restriction of the topic. The songs he has given are yet not fully exposed the albums released in Pakistan are many more than that of India and if they will now be on-air I am sure that people will not only love them but also they will rock the charts. NFAK’s greatness is only known to those people who have listened to him he produced the Music and that kind of music is rare these days.

Thankz
