Udit Narayan is considered to be the leading playback singer in the India Film Industry. It would be difficult to name 5 of his best songs.
For me his top 5 songs would be:
1. Main Yahaan Hoon, *Veer- Zaara(2004), *The Late Madan Mohan
The highlight of this song is the music and the evergreen voice of Udit Narayn which suites Shah Rukh Khan perfectly.
2. Mitwa, Lagaan(2001), *A.R.Rahman with Alka Yagnik and Sukhwinder Singh.
This song is an highly energetic and encouraging number.
3. Yeh Tara Woh Tara, Swades(2004), *A.R.Rahman with Master Vignesh and Baby Pooja.
Yet another Shah Rukh Khan song. This song proves that Udit Narayan is the best suited playback singer for Shah Rukh Khan.
4. Mehndi Lagake Rakhna, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge(1995), *Jatin- Lalit with Lata Mangeshkar.
Again Shah Rukh Khan and absolutely superb singing.
5. Ae Ajnabi, Dil Se, *A.R.Rahman with Mahalaxmi Iyer.
This is the slowest and one of the tuffest songs he would have sung. He manages it and makes the singing look very easy. Again a superb effort.
