(not so) FAMOUS FIVE!!!

I think now Bollywood and its audience is improving a lot as far as giving the status to a film of super hits and flops. I remembered in 1990’s era (when I was in my early teens), most of the craps and typical stupid films were getting super hit status like Tridev, Dil, sanam bewafa and Beta etc, And those who dared to do any experiment in the form of genuine film or ’’zara hutke ’’ movie were flopped miserably like Raakh (aamir khan), Damini (meenakshi) and Anjaam (Srk, madhuri).

But thanks God, time has changed now and people are accepting and appreciating experimental and refreshing stuff like Bhoot, Kaun, Rules-pyar ka super hit formula, Satya, Company and Joggers’ park etc. But STILL the vicious TYPICAL FILMI element is there to a large extent due to which some REALLY GOOD FILMS didn?t get successful status .

There are too many really good films that deserved to be hits like Zakhm, Tamanna etc, but I wanna be restricted towards 2003 because in 2003 we saw most of those kinda films that were really good and deserving but failed to acheive success.

My list for those films taht deserved to be hits goes on like this:

1.Darna Mana Hai: I know that it is not a total washout film, but recovered its price and did average business in big cities and multiplexes, But still I think if this film would eb a clean hit, it would open the doors for really different cinema, which would not only be different and intelligent but highly entertaining too.

2.Pinjar: I dont know why this master piece of great writer Amrita Pretam which was moved to silver screen with equal sensitivity, delicateness and beauty as the novel was itself, was failed so miserably. It is beyond my imagination that why the modern classics like Pinjar failed and even its best best actors are not even nominated for awards for their supreme performances in it.?

3.Tehzeeb: I know that films like that lacks fire and strong screen presentation as far as big screen of cinema is concerned, but I think people should adopt changes too, they should not demand every time histronics and extremes, But also try to understand the down to earth and soft style of depicting highly emotional themes, why histrionics and high voltage feelings cant be wrapped in soft colorful style ??? Why audience demand these themes always in dry, too ugly to be true and loud shape? Why do the audience always demands that the director should make them understand too clearly and in a spoon-feeding way with no hidden feelings involved?

Why, they don?t even try to think a bit and feel and understand the emotions beneath the surface of profound films like Tehzeeb?

  1. 3 Deewarain: I cant understand that people who appreciated the ordinary work of Nagesh kukunoor like ’’Hyderabad Blues’’ and make it successful, didnt encouraged the much more sincere and better effort like 3 Deewarain, which was the one and only kinda films in its generation, intelligent and highly interesting at the same time, with really great performances, not so purposeful but yes! ’’hutke’’ and entertaining theme and script.

  2. Samay-when time strikes: Sushmita and her brilliant choice of brilliant films are always ignored by audience.. I don?t know why she is always been ignored. Filhaal was also her good choice of films and roles, But I must say Samay really deserved to be a hit.

If people accept ordinary scripted (typical horror films’ theme) but stylishly depicted ’’Bhoot’’ without songs, then what the hell they make Samay flop, which was so convincing, well made, consistent and intelligent thriller.

So guys, plz leave some comments for my review that what is ur opinion on these above stated films that according to me should deserved to be hits.
