~*~ Kya Peeyenge Aap ~*~

Beverages – both hot and cold are an important component of our every day diet. They can be healthy, refreshing, tasty and it would be extremely difficult to serve the guests properly without the aid of beverages. They work as a great appetizer before starting the meal and also can be used effectively at the end of the meals.

Here are some of my favourite beverages –

Tea - Ek Pyali Garma Garam Chai

I can’t imagine starting my day without a garama garam pyali of chai. Sipping it slowly in the fresh air of the morning and smelling the sweet aroma while sitting in your balcony. Can there be a better setting for planning out the rest of your day?

Orange Juice - Santre Ka Ras

It’s a very healthy drink full of Vitamin C. Good to have it on a hot afternoon after your legs are tired from shopping. It rejuvenates you. It can also be used as a great appetizer before you start eating your lunch.

Tomato Soup

A great appetizer before you have your dinner on a chilly or windy night. Most people like it, so it’s a safe bet to prepare, if you have some guests coming home for dinner.

Lime Water - Neembu Paani

I simply love this drink! It’s very low on cost and doesn’t require much hard work in its preparation. But the best thing about it is that it doesn’t increases your calories. A very light and soothing drink.

Espresso Coffee

There is nothing like a hot cup of espresso coffee while you are stressed out and feeling low. It elevates your spirits, refreshes your mind and enables you to start concentrating again on that important exam or business meeting of yours. Also a great drink, while you are gossiping with your friend in a relaxed mood on the weekend.

A Chilled Glass Of WATER - Thanda Thanda Pani

Everyone needs it! Nothing can beat it! Nobody can survive without it! It is the ultimate drink, which forms the very basis of our existence. Everyone should drink lots of water everyday. It helps you to stay in shape and keeps you fit & healthy.

With the Diwali season going on, it would be a great thing if you can greet your guests with these beverages rather than the carbonated drinks. They are not only unhealthy but somehow I feel that serving Coke and Pepsi looks very informal since it requires no effort on your part. You just have to open the bottle and serve the drink to the guest. But all the above mentioned beverages, do need your involvement to a minor or major extent, which makes the guest feel special that you didn’t opt for the “short cut” way and proved to be a caring host.
