I wish I could not be as hard on some of these actresses i’m about to profile. I’m sure its a daunting task to stand up there and act in a movie and let people like you and me judge them and their abilities. and i’m sure they’d probably say that if you have the guns to criticize, why don’t you act instead of me! But oh well, I admit it, acting is not my forte, so I do not attempt it. similarly, these ladies should take a cue and stop making a royal fool of themselves.
Where do I begin? I have to leave profanity at bay, otherwise I sure have the choicest for these divine creations of God. Also, I have to save my energy to write down 5 worst actors of hindi films, thats going to drain me so much that i’d probably need a pick-me-up from oxygen bar! Anyway, without further ado, here is my list of 5 worst actresses of hindi films:
1. Esha Deol
She’s not pretty, she’s not attractive, she’s not graceful, she cannot speak well, she cannot emote well and she’s stiff and wooden. I mean look at her mother, look at that porcelain face and that charm and the charisma, and Esha is a very bad copy of her mother, in every way! she should probably be given a chance to improve and what not, but i’m sure nothing can motivate me to see her movies. her movies have no story line and her co-stars are so pathetic that she only looks better in comparison with them! (with the likes of sanjay kapoor)
2. Kareena Kapoor
Her only claim to fame is the famous family name! That in one line sums up her acting abilities. Most people think she’s attractive, etc. I choose to differ, as I believe that attractiveness comes from not just beauty (meaning ’fair skin’ and a symmetrical body structure according to most people) but also the personality. Kareena pouts unnaturally, her dialogue delivery is abysmal, her timing is pathetic and please get over the ’poo’ syndrome! No one ever told her what is the ’other’ meaning of poo?
3. Urmila Matondkar
Pretty, maybe; but again pouts unnaturally, shrieks and howls, cannot emote and claim to fame? item dance numbers and Ram Gopal Verma flicks!
4. Ameesha Patel
Please quit when the time is right, maybe time will never be right for her to quit. She has a glazed expression throughout all her movies. She’s the figurative ’dumb blonde’ ofcourse lets put it as ’dumb brunette’ to be exact here.
5. Manisha Koirala
Enh! She rose and then she fell, and she fell with a *thud* I think she’s extremely over rated and hyped. She is forever misty eyed and looks like a little vulnerable lamb that needs to be rescued in most of her movies that claim that she acted ’good’ in them. look at 1942 a love story, bombay, dil se, khamoshi...in pretty much all of these movies she portrayed as someone who the hero needs to protect, someone who’se precious and fragile. She has that ’little lamb’ face (and I mean it in a nice manner, she does have pretty face) so she got away with it. But she certainly doesn’t have the range. Bad dressing sense, cannot dance, cannot be naturally funny, and when I saw the grotesque jaani dushman, I really wanted to scratch the eyes off my face! eww!
Honorable mention
Aishwarya Rai
Pretty and plastic! That’s what most people think of her! She is stunning and almost too perfect and most of the time we are so besotted by just looking at her and the background in which she’s portrayed that we forget that she cannot act. She’s made to look like a screen goddess in the Sanjay Leela Bhansali films, the sets, the dresses, the jewelry, the make up, the works! But apart from the SLB films, she’s done little justice to any of her roles! whom am I kidding, no justice at all! Taal was passing marks for her, but again big budget, subhash ghai, a.r. rehmaan, oh well! (i have to force myself not to write about taal, I cannot stand the movie)
Golden Oldies
Raakhi- she’s the female version of Shahrukh khan; hams, overacts and makes you want to shoot yourself
Sharmila tagore- the hideous hairstyles, the awful dresses, and again if she wears jeans, cuts off her hair and puts on some weight, I bet you cant make out its her or saif ali khan! And chupke chupke is no doubt one of the movies I enjoy watching again and again, but everytime she sais ’jee-jaa-jeeeee’ I clench my teeth.
Sridevi- I dont know if she’s considered as one of the oldies or not, but nonetheless, she was maybe cute and adorable in chaalbaaz, chandani and I love lamhe for some obscure reasons, but I still think she cannot act! the shrilly voice, the nasal twang, the annoying giggle, the glazed look and some of her movies with mithunda and jeetendra! she definitely deserves a mention in this category!
These are some of the bigwigs I thought who deserved to be mentioned. I am purposely avoiding to mention the mohabattein threesome, most model turn actresses like bipasha basu, sonali bendre and the likes, and some of the character actresses like beena and reema laagoo.
