Five Worst Bikes.

It is like recollecting the old gold when I sit to write about 5 worst motorcycles.

Enfield Explorer

the moter cycle was horrible piece of engineering. To start this bike using kick was real challange. Intense kicking and the engine would refuse to fire. The frequency of the engine showing reluctance to start in morning of winter was very high. Driving this small brother of Enfield was enjoying but the max speed at full acceleration was not higher than 80 km per hr.

Jawa

The old cousin of Yezdi. The bike at that point of time was considered as very stylish(as no other was available). The single shaft use to double as the kick and the gear shifter. It had telescopic front shockabsorber(common in these days bike). Its’ turning radius was very large making it difficult to drive in traffic. It use to come with battery and frequently it would require recharging, Mileage as low as 12 -13 km per lit.

Lamberrata

One scooter for which there use to a waiting period for 3 to 4 years, or you need to purchase through VIP quota. Starting was a tough exercise, long kick and you needed to jump on the kick to start the emgine, but once fired the scooter was pleasure to drive. The length of the sooter was another flip side. though the ride was smooth but the mileage was very low and needed maintainance at regular intervals. including engine rebore etc.  Changin of front tyre, fitting the side cover etc.  were real challange. The brakes use to go out of order quite frequently. Another filp side was low mileage.

Vicky

One of the first mopeds on Indian road. Looks were OK but again starting was a big problem with a very small kick shaft. The gear box had problem and slipping of gear was quite common. though the price was a real advantage.

Rajdoot

Old faithful. The company never bothered to improve the Mc technically. Though some cosmetic changes were brought in but that could not keep pace with time and as a result it lost its market to competitors. The engine was quite powerful but the top speed was max 70 to 75 kmph. The hall mark of this bike was tha it was quite dependable the maintainance was very low and could be repaired by any road side mechanic.
