Ours is a market where innovation does not play a significant role(very sadly). Instead, our focus is mostly on conformity & wide distribution for aHighway to Profitability. Risk Taking, Setting New Benchmarks or Standards or simply innovating or coming up with new ideas is like non existent. That is the biggest problem I personally see which will stop us from becoming market leaders.(Im not an economist & Im trying my best not to bullshit). And please for all the Excessively Patriotic people, dont just start blaming me or cursing me just because Im giving my personal observation / opinon.
The Contessa Car by Hindustan Motors is the only muscle car that has been manufactured in India. I forsee that our market is so focussed on capitalisation by only manufacturing economical family cars which have no or hardly any distinction from each other and are mostly plastic. Look at all the family cars.look at all the SUVs & worst of all look at all the motorcycles. Motorcycles in India are a joke. All Japanese designed overly fuel efficient weak motorcycles. And the worst is the Karizma which has only added a plastc thingy to cover its engines and try to make it look like a sports bike. WHAT ABOUT CHOPPERS? Yeah one company tried to do that too.I think Yahama with entiser which is its gay version.
Well my point is Contessa was a good step towards.a very good looking car.solid body mostly steel and we shouldnt kill ourselves just because of fuel efficiency problems.
